new to me, 95 Sport Nautique

Finally got my first inboard boat, 1995 sport nautique with 2nd generation FCT, and perfect pass. Got it late season so didn't get it out more than a couple times before it got too cold. Does anyone know what is underneath or how to access the box structure that takes up space on the drivers side of the bow under the playpen seating? To me it looks like it takes up about 1/3 of the space underneath there. Trying to figure out how to weight it to get a good wake. I don't need a massive wake but would like a good solid one that will kick you up in the air a ways. I Was thinking of getting a fat seat to stick in the back in place of the back seat. Then getting a sack to put under the play pen bow and one in the ski locker. What size fits well in those two places? I am hoping this may give enough weight while allowing enough room for people and stuff.

Congrats on the new boat! How about getting a triangle bow sack and just filling it on top of the seats???

I've got a '97 sport and weigh it as follows:

400lbs lead under back seat in 20lb bags.
300lb side sac either side of the engine as far back as possible.
300-400lb locker sac in ski locker

I've found there is absolutely no need for any weight in the bow, but depending on the shape of wake you are after, you can add a little, but bear in mind the ending is in the middle (obvious statement) so it really doesnt need much up forward.

I've bought a few new sacs and will experiment with laying one directly in front of the back seat and do away with the side sacs, this will mean a little less weight overall but give the feel of more space.

Lead is good for those small areas and its exact weight that you can shift around as you see fit. If your on a budget we built some solid ballast weights out of pvc piping that we capped and filled with scrap/old lead weights from a tire shop in town. easy to move around and take on and off the vessel as needed. good luck! I've got a 92 SN and with it weighted properly feel like it puts out a solid wake.
