i am looking into getting a 16" 1973 Cobolt 350 V8 Tri-Haul outdrive boat..brand new crate engine, brand new interior for $3500...the price seams right ,,...what do you guys think of the wake for boarding..is it ok?...we could add a WEDGE or Fat sacks right?..anyone ever own this boat or see it run? opinions

You can't add a wedge to non malibu boats. If you do, you run some high risks. Yea, if you add a decent amount of fat sacs you can get a decent wake. That engine seems big enough to pull the extra weight. Just add a monster tower and 1500lbs and you have a wakeboard boat. Good luck

How would you add a wedge with an outdrive, anyhow?

I don't know. 16 inches is a pretty small boat.

I wouldn't attempt to add a wedge.

You would need to add 2 wedges, one on each side of the outdrive!

I'll bet you can get an old closed bow direct drive ski boat for that kind of money too. I would be leary of old I/O's - those outdrives can be money pits.
