i have an infinity kappa sub 120.3se its rated at 300 rms and 1200 watts max....... im about to install a rockford fosgate 250a2 amp that will push 250 rms at 4 ohms to one channel, is this to many watts going to the sub or will i be able to crank it up without having to worry about blowing anything?

Yea if your sub is rated at 300rms and 1200peak 250 at 4ohms will be nothin. No prob. Hook it up correctly with the gain turned all the way down and then with your stereo on at your "loud" setting turn the gain up til it starts to 'clip' (get staticky and worse sounding) then adjust the gain down from that point just a little.
Oh amd when your doing all this play a song like young jeezy or a heavy bass song to bass test

actually went with an alpine mrp-m500 its a 500 watts mono amp, my sub its dual voice coil and handles 300 rms, this amp will give off 500rms so do i just do like suggested and play a song really loud with the gain all the way down, then slowly turn the gain up till the sub sounds bad and turn the gain down a little bit from that?
