So we were at the lake this weekend for the INT and were with our friends who had their brand new axis there. We were staying at a place that had boat slips and they parked the boat there while we watched the competition. So we are walking back to the boat and notice this person spray painting mini blinds for their house boat. They were across on the other side, but we could smell it really strongly once we got in the boat. The wind was blowing little specs of paint and it ended up getting all over their vinyl. Not noticeable at first, but when you look closely you can see little black specs on their white interior. Is there anything they can use to remove the paint without voiding their warranty?

You may want to give Mineral Spirits a try or Laquer Thinner. Both are much less agressive than Acetone and since the are oil based should not strip out the conditioners in the vinyl to bad. Your will need to use a brush of course to work down into the texture of the vinyl. A few other things are goo gone, zippo lighter fluid, and a petroleum based cleaner called Lestoil. If those don't get the paint off then I don't know what to tell you

they may not adhere well and just rub off over time or you just rub them off if you get at them early....other wise what murphy says

I like CQ's answer better. I would have been dragging someone over there by the nads if they wouldn't have come willing.

IF its on the boat, i would recomend a turtle wax clay bar, it comes in a kit, its one of the steps with the "ice" wax products, i was spray painting a sprocket about 30 feet away from my uncle's briht yellow mustang, and it was a little bit windy, well i got a little bit of over spray on his car, it was all over the car hood and roof. we heard that clay bar takes off over spray, followed the directions, and it pulled it off, and the car looks better now then before. its only about 15$ for the kit, and it would do a boat a good 10 times, same with a truck. it worked great on a car. dont know about gelcoat, cant hurt though

overspray dust usually wipes off. the dust dries in the air before it lands. But yes I would wipe it up with the houseboat owners face.

X2 on the clay bar w/spray wax (lubricant). Comes in a kit from Meguiars also. Paste wax after.
