I just saw this new Billabong vest online:

http://www.gettommys.com/cart.cfm?cart_action=item_info&category_guid=F92B7 0FF-65BF-D230-46B8-31CA7B1CC0FD&item_guid=E8C3515A-65BF-D230-4AC5-69627349685C&CFID=10162499&CFTOKEN=17288534

It looks cool and is cheaper than the O'Neill Gooru.

Anybody have any experience or recommendations on these vests?

sanford... the foam padding doesn't get all folded up when you pull the vest off like the Gooru does.... plus its easyer to get on and off because of the small zipper on the back...

I have a Gooru. When I was riding I fell and my vest came almost completely off. Like over my head but still on my arms. It was scary.

We've gotten the vest in, and have spoken to Danny / Chad about it....had some staff members try it. Very comfy / similar to the Gooru...one change is that it has a small zip to help you get in and out of it. Scott Bouchard helped in the design /look of it, and Billabong executed very good. Obviously like any new product, durability is a concern, but the vest looks solid! Hope this helps.
