Ballast help for surf wake

2005 Elite V C4 Centurion Air Warrior.
Built in 500# Stock center tank.
I also have TWO 500# v-drive sacks.
It feels like I just cant get enough push from the wake to throw the handle in. I find a spot close to the back of the boat and AM surfing but lose it a lot and need to keep the handle in my hand so we dont have to re-start constantly.
I have been filling one sack on one side of the engine, the stock tank 3/4 full (I heard to do this so it can "lean"). And the other fat sac length wise on the seat. Yesterday we had two people sitting to one side and one 4yr old as well.
Not sure exactly how big the board is, its not mine, but I think a bigger board might help too. I am about 220#.

might have better luck checking the surf section. They seem to have things dialed in

simple no enough weight. I have a 08 22SSV and here is what we do for weight when we surf.
1150 front/center
750 rear locker/ on what ever side we are sufring
300 back seat
100 on the floor/ on the surf side
11 mph
everyone in the boat on the back half of the boat that is being surfed

more weight on the surf side. A 750lb sac will do the trick. With the sacs you have you could stack them both in the rear locker. If you people sitting on the side bench. Or with less people put the sac on the side bench. Start with no weight in the stock center tank. Start filling while underway and see if is helping or hurting. Bow weight and running the trim tab down can make the pocket longer.

you're missing some weight up front/belly, it will lenghten the wake

Will stacking my sacks on top of each other be tough on the bottom sack??? Thats why I havent tried that yet.
I figured more weight was most likely the answer. Maybe I can get some lead weight under the rear side sack and still have my other sack free to move around.
When I am actually surfing I am right off the swim plate (maybe 2ft max)...at times I actually hook the board on top of the plate when I get going too fast and catch up to the boat.

lead will work you just need more weight on the surf side and less in the middle. In our 01 elite v we have a 750 in the rear 500 on the side bench 250 in the nose, with passengers on the side bench. It sounds like your pocket, surfable part of the wave is small. Bow weight, trim tab adjustment and increasing the speed will make the wave longer and allow you to surf farther back from the boat. Practice helps too.

Agree on the practice, we just started to dial it in. Appreciate the advice. I was watching some videos and I think our speed was a touch too slow as well. The pocket that actually pushes the board is small and hard to stay in. I will bring more weight and or people next time. Sure is fun though.
