OK- I need more to do at work than play with spreadsheets to see top riders for the last 11 years. But here it is. Columns are Place, name, total points and times in top 10.

1 Parks Bonifay* 5387 9
2 Darin Shapiro 4148 8
3 Shaun Murray 3645 8
4 Dean Lavelle 1780 4
5 Erik Ruck 1740 6
6 Daniel Watkins* 1688 5
7 Brett Eisenhauer1488 5
8 Zane Schwenk 1402 5
9 Gregg Necrason 1130 3
10 Danny Harf 1095 4

What are these points based on?

I took the tour points from the last 11 years from the PWT site "past champions". Methodolgy is not 100% since it only accounts for the rider's points if they finished in the top 10. Any tour points accumulated outside of the top 10 finish did not contribute to total points. I would guess the top 3 would still be the same.

Well Danny Harf's 3(or is it 4 now?) x-games should have got him a little more points.

this looks like its solely based on pwt finishes, not x games or anything else?

Seems strange to see Greg Necrason in the top 10, I can't remember him riding any contest for a while.

Question, how did you account for the change in formats? I'm confused. Did you include the "Expression Session" formats as well? What points did you award to each? Please explain so we can see what we are actually getting from these numbers.

Then do one involving pro model sales. I don't hink there is a way to legitimately see who the real top rider is.

I just took it off the PWT site "past tour champions" It shows the top 10 since 95 so I don't think they were doing expression session then but I am not sure. I just copied the data into an excel spreadsheet and manipulated the data. So 480 points could be for first one year and maybe 420 points won it the next. If you want to add more criteria you could include the world cup champions with thoses points and podium finishes. It was just for fun though it is kind of interesting. You gotta admit that Darin, Shaun and Parks would make alot of peoples top 3.
