Well last week when I was riding I noticed that one of my bindings was loose on my board. I checked the screws and they were tight as they could be. Found out that the baseplate on the footbed is bent! I have enough space in the front of my binding to put 3 fingers under it. I contacted NICE by email and this is what I got back from the so called warranty manager: "Lynsey, Under the NICE warranty we do not fix or replace footbeds. We have very few problems with them and when we do it is due to an outside factor. My one suggestion is to find someone with a vice that you can secure and bend the baseplate back to form. Since I'm the warranty manager when we do get bent baseplates we do the same thing, we do not have any replacement baseplates. Please let me know if you have any questions...Thanks, Jake."
Well now I'm really bent about this, no pun intended. These are 2003 bindings and the manufacturer won't even honor this. I tried using a hammer to see if it would work (only thing I had around my apartment) and no, didn't work. These are new bindings that I've used for 6 mos and looked on their website and nothing is there regarding warranties. I just find it hard to believe that they don't honor footbeds as part of the warranty and are not going beyond the call of duty for this by replacing the binding that is messed up. I don't want to pay over $300 for a new pair of bindings, I liked NICE but not sure if I'll buy another pair in the future because of this. My legs are strong but not that strong to only bend one of the footbeds! Any other suggestions?

Well thats sucky.
But he has a point, a vice is the best way, then some bones for those plates to stop it happening in the future.
But that is not what I call customer service!

I might have to break down and buy a vice but not sure if I'll mess it up worse or fix it....guess we'll find out. I needed to vent though.

Lynsey,
I broke my O'Brien Plush Pro Bindings and O'Brien replaced the broken piece no questions asked! I probably won't be purchasing NICE bindings EVER! Good Luck.....

it was suggested by a friend that I get stiffners aka bones and I will but need to fix my one binding first. I'm skeptical about purchasing bindings from this company in the future.

lynsey, you just need to kick some ass. the company is just trying to come up which is bs after you pay $300 and $400 for some boots that you don't even wear every day. if they have a shop anywhere around you just bug the hell out of the person in charge of that department and he will make sure it is handled.

At least you got an e-mail back. I have e-mailed them twice and got no response. I have NICE PRS1's and the only problem I've had with them is that the original lace locks didn't grip very well. I replaced them with a different type and they work fine. Other than that the bindings have been great, but it sucks that their support team completely ignored me.

Well progress has been made. From what I hear from an inside source, they are on their way to me. I'll let you know how they look when I get them back. Try emailing them again but put your attn to Jake, he is the warranty manager.

This is Jake at NICE bindings and I have been monitoring this board and would like to appologize for any missed e-mails, but we were recently hit by and e-mail worm, and over a dozen viruses. We would never intentionaly ignore any of our customers and we value their opinions and suggestions about our product. If there are any further questions pleas contact Me (Jake) or Tony at service@nicegoods.com. Thanks and have a good one, Jake.

Well I got my bindings back and they look great!!! They replaced my cracked overlays, fixed my bent baseplates, both heel brackets were replaced. I also got a tshirt and some bones so my bindings don't get bent again. I'm stoked to have that and my new board, mucho thanks to NICE for taking these as warranty.
