quicksilver makes a four blade aluminum prop that costs less than mercs. i just picked up one on ebay for $110 with a floating prop wrench, merc owns quicksilver so it could be the identical prop just a different name. thats what my dealer says here. its a 'quicksilver diamond 4'
I run a quicksilver 18 pitch four blade on my 18 foot Searay with the same engine. The thing pulls like a draft horse but you lose the top end. 35 mph is about max but you only need 20 - 25 mph anyhow. You will probably need to get a different trim tab or modify the one you have since the prop won't clear. Replacement tabs are about 10 bucks. I notched mine and it works just fine.
It's a 14 1/2. The main reason that I run an 18 pitch is for speed control. The Hull design of the Searay makes 20 - 22 mph hard to hold with a larger pitch. I don't know how the Bayliners are. I guess it would depend on what you're running now. Like Boarditup said, try dropping down a couple inches in pitch from what you have now and watch your RPM. As far as price, there's a guy on Ebay user name Propdoc from Medford, Oregon that sells 4 blade quicksilver props for $100 + shipping.
