mattW welcome to wakeskating! the scapes are pretty long. you might want to look into the lf anthems and/or factions. the anthem is a standard flat deck for 100 but for 50 bucks more you can get the faction which has molded eva concave. the concave gives you better leverage and control. it is worth the extra 50 bucks.

the most expensive wakeskates are still less then the cheapest wakeboards.

Actually, it's the other way around, the anthem has the molded eva concave.

I just got a HL Scape (112) on Saturday and rode for the first time. Its pretty fun...very natural if you wakeboard...getting up is cake. I had fun playing around on it and I'm looking forward to learning how to really ride.

Sorry to hi-jack your thread bro...but I'm curious what the natural progression is for tricks in wakeskating? I know in wakeboarding my progression has been: w2w, 180, 3's and/or tantrums/rolls etc.... but I don't have a clue what to attempt first on the skate! Ollie? surface 3's? What's the easiest?

Luker, that is one of the great things about wakeskating, you can start where you want. some people start with w2w, but personally i started with flat tricks because i was trying to stay away from wakeboarding and do something different.
you should start by doing lip slides and boardslides and get comfotable
and then start learning ollies and get them solid. after you get them solid start trying shuvs and 180s. then start trying lip trick combos like bs 90 shuv to lipslide.
from there you will know what to do.

have fun

Where can you buy some of these non-mainstream (non LF or HL) brand wakeskates? Like Cassette?
