Was hoping you guys/gals could give me some advice on a boat purchase. I have about 35k to spend and want to get the best boat for my money.

I don't neccesarily need the best wake out there I will never be a great wakeboarder at the same time I have been behind and driven a Chaparral I/O before and it's a pain to maintain speed and you have to trim it to make the wake decent(basically I want to rely on my wife as little as possible) I would really prefer the boat be as big as possible, it's going to be used just as much for entertaining and family as wakeboarding.....you know pulling kids around on the donut things.

Wanted some opinions on the less expensive boats such as Tige, Centurian, Supra and Moomba. Which ones have better build quality, engines and so forth. I have scoured the internet for the Correct Craft's, Malibu's and Mastercraft's and while they are all nice boats they are out of my budget range unless I get them 5 years old with 300-400 hours which while I'm sure they work great I like newer toys. Having a good stereo is nearly as important to me as the wake the boat makes.

Any input would be cool.

Thanks.

If you want a big boat look at the Moomba XLV Malibu 23 LSV Tige 22V, etc, etc, etc.. You can find these boats 3-5 years old for the price range that you are in. As far as speed goes, get a boat with Perfect Pass and built in ballast and you will/should be happy. You can always add a stereo or PP to a boat if you find one for a few g's less, but finding one that is big enough and with built in ballast should be your main concern. Happy hunting!

Indmar pretty much owns the market for v-drive engines. If you are going to get a v-drive more than likely you will end up with an Indmar engine. Which all of their engines are great, so you want have to worry there.

I would recommend Supra or Moomba. However that is personal preference. Go out and demo boats and see which you like best. There are a lot of great, low priced wakeboats. You just have to find which one you like best.

Good luck

I picked up a 2004 Supra Launch (direct drive) for $35K last Sept. It has a very deep hull so its great in choppy water. Despite the direct drive, it has plenty of room in it for the kids. Makes a great wakeboard board, or slalom ski boat. It came with auto ballast, PP, stero, etc. I love it!!! IMO, a Supra is the best boat for the $$$$$.

If you want a Vdrive, then I would look at the Moombas.

They are out there. I got mine for $33K
2004 Loaded with every option that comes on it including the 340 hp motor. Only had 85 hours on it. it is in near perfect shape and runs like a dream. I had to drive 600 miles to go get it but well worth the time.
I know you are looking for one now but come october people will be looking to get rid of their boats before they have to winterize them. Winter months are the best time to buy. There is a 2003 Supra SSV all White and has aot of option with 135 hours on it up in NORCAL, on boats.com. They were asking $35K. I talked them down to $32K out the door including tax. But I got my boat instead. Last time I checked it was still for sale.
The deals are out there, you just have to be ready to buy and look under every rock.

Also living in SOCAL has helped me a little as I have many options to explore ( all Cali, Nevada, Arizona, Oregon). I dont know where you live but try exapnding your search area and im sure you will find something.
Good Luck

Here is the supra in NORCAL that you can get for $32 Out the door. It will cost you $3k to ship it to OK. There is your $35K.

Great deal on that boat, and it looks sharp as well.

Kind of ironic that NORCAL boat I used to work right down the street from until I moved out here. Will have to take a look at that one in TX....thanks!

Kind of weird that that the Supra doesn't have any wakeboard racks on the tower.

How about a new 05 Mobius XLV for 36,900 major options include wakeplate and 3 bag ballast only problem is it's 1k miles away. Any ideas how I could get it cheaply without driving both directions?
