Crazy! I have some friends (Billy and Joe) that live just outside of Hibbing on a lake with a couple of float planes (name of lake escapes me). The oddest thing is that they have an Epic DD also... I have been up there to ride a handful of times. Nice area with no boaters to contended with.

Just recently did a 4' extension to our dock. Glad the way it turned out. Now the dock measures a 12' x 20' section and a 8' x 20' section with a 6' ramp. It's a floating dock as at the end of the dock we have 21' of water depth. As such a lift is not an option.

Wow, that is a coincidence!

Not many boats on our lake, either. It makes for great days out on the water.

Nice pics everyone!!!!

Some of you know I have been building a new dock this year. I wish I had thought of the Tiki Bar under a large covered area of my dock but we cannot cover docks here... Fortunately I already have the Tiki Bar up on my deck...

Yesterday, I worked on covering the small gazebo at the end of my walkway. I used Ondura brand corrugated roofing material. It turned out pretty nice.

Also, with all the LED boat lighting threads, I decided to see if some LED lighting would work on the dock. All I can say is wow..... There is no missing the blue lighting on my dock! I will be extending the LED strip lights down the ramp and then I will install them around the floating portion. Can't wait to get pic of finished product, but here are a few shots of the lighting on the fixed walkway section...

Ours in the Fall the weekend we pulled it out. Getting a major overhaul in the spring. My dad sold his Yellow Four Winns and the new Tige RZR will be going on the right(where the small boat is) with a U-shaped addition all the way around it to the right. Will open up one side of the dock for the kids to play. Also thinking about adding a 8x8 deck on the open side with a bench.

Sold (The first pic I took from the boat for the listing). The previous owners paid $250K to build the decks and boat house(s). We installed speakers, lighting down the landings, and electric lifts. Was going to tiki it out, but was having too much fun! Man, I miss it.

Here's looking down the deck. Lots of diving off the roof of the boathouse.

I haven't either. What brand lift is that with a canopy like that? My new lift has a canopy with side extensions for a total of I think 3 and a half feet. Nothing like that box you have!!
Old     (cwkoch)      Join Date: Aug 2006       02-01-2013, 12:37 PM Reply
The canopy is a "Touchless Boat Cover" . It is seperate from the lift. The curtains power up and down. For your typical wakeboat, you can choose 5' tall or 7' tall curtains. Mine are 7' tall.

KOCH, how much do those run? $$
Old     (cwkoch)      Join Date: Aug 2006       02-04-2013, 7:21 AM Reply
Retail is around $5500 for the complete canopy plus the frame. If you need extended uprights from your boat lift, that would run extra, and you'd need to get those from your boat lift manufacturer.

When I was shopping for lifts last year, I knew I wanted the extended canopy at the very least. When I was pricing that on something like a Floe lift, they were around $3500 for the canopy frame, material, and 18" or 24" extensions. This was a little more, and completely covers that boat. I figured with keeping the gelcoat perfect and fade free, the selling price of the boat down the road would more than make up for the price difference. Also- I never have to put the cover on the boat when it's on the lift. After a big rain storm, there's not a drop of water on the boat. I can park the boat after use, open some compartments to make sure everything dries out, lower the curtain, and we're good to go!! It's a big time saver. It's especially nice if you want to go out for an evening booze-cruise. No fussing with a cover in the dark when you put it back on the lift!

I don't have my boat in it yet because we don't close on the house until 2/22 but it's coming soon! It'll have a SN2001 in the lift and a deck boat on the left. Let the fun begin.

Closest thing I have is tying up on the side of my buddy's houseboat. Yep, next to the wood pile. He rents the houseboat, so he's stuck with some of the owner's mess...

His boat is moored off the deck on the rear of the houseboat.

My other "dock" is at the public boat launch. LOL

But it does have a pretty killer view:

There's actually a ton of houses on Lake Hamilton in Arkansas with similar setups. There's even a few who built a full "garage dock"; i.e. the slip is fully enclosed with a garage door on the end. There's also a house just a few lots down from our rental that is built over the water, and the garage slip is built in under the house. Kinda cool....
