I have really been trying to get down to the ocean to do some boarding in the surf and some tow in surfing. Can someone give me tips to anchoring the winch in the sand? And or and troubles they had when they went to the beach to winch??

Thanks

i havnt made it to the beach to winch yet, but i know someone who has. they built up some sand in front of the winch as a type of wall. then just put two long stakes through the frame.

give it a try, it if it starts to pull out of the ground, kill the power.
and i do this at any winch spot we hit, but i stand on the trailer tongue on the frame just to be sure it doesnt lift up off the ground. it cant hurt, and squated down like that is a comfortable spot to run it in my opinion.

My friends did it in Mexico. They pulled their truck up on the beach and put the wench on there. They were doing some cool stuff off the waves. I'll post a video when I get home.

What beach are you going to in PA? In california you can't drive on the beach. We used crow bars to anchor it down. Then my son would walk it down 600 yards and swim out about 75 yards and do a deep water start cause the waves break out aways, had a blast...

Great video! Could you use a winch at pismo or get pulled by a ATV?

Yeah...that was Josh Rice, the 05 cable wakeboarding world champ, his chick Louise who absolutely rips...think raley to blind, and logan was the one with the longer hair. Logan makes yankmeister winches. They're all regulars at TSR.

dennis, you can use a winch at Pismo but you definitely can not use an ATV. I've got the ticket to prove it. I think the winch would be sick on a steep beach with a fairly gnarly shorebreak to bust yourself up with.
