I have an old school 21'SunSport and I run three fat sacks in the back and sides and at 18mph there's sick wake behind my Supra great for surfing and wakeboarding.

18 mph! Wow, a fat guy like me, just sinks in when I cut at that speed. You must be a little guy.

Interesting you have a clean wake going that slow too. I can get mine to clean up, but I don't have that much ballast, and I have TAPS.

I am 205lbs and maybe my speed is a little faster than that i duno or its the custom pitched three blade i am running.

The prop will not keep your board on a plane at that slow. The prop will only help maintain speed.

I weigh about 190. I need to ride at at least 22.5, or the board sinks in as I cut into or away from the wake.

It could be that your speedo is in need of adjustment.

We have an '06 Sunsport 24V with the Gravity package. To my knowledge the only difference between the Launch and Sunsport, assuming you get all the Gravity bells and whistles, is that the Sunsport has a walk-through underneath the back-right ballast compartment cover. Exact same hull shape as the launch along with everything else structural. Like the Launch, stock wake is amazing and custom ballast only helps. More than anything, I find myself using the bags to tweak and define the wake depending on how many people are on board/where they are sitting rather than to amp up the wake. We haven't tried to surf it yet, but it can definitely throw an adequate wake to do so and we plan on trying this out whenever we can afford a board. Overall, very satisfied with our purchase and the quality of the boat.

robb it could be that you are running with taps on your supra instead of a tige....

oh wait you have a tige so you must just be padding your post count!

Mike is looking for info on late 80s sunsports.
He got out behind my 06 launch 21v and loves the wake and would like to find something comparable but considerable less $$. So he is trying to find a hull compatable to the 21v, and I thought the closest was the sunsport from that time frame(late 80s early 90s).

btw I have found speed is always a personal preference, I have seen 200lb plus guys ride at 18 and 60 pound kids ride at 26!

Anyone have any old Launch or old Beast pics for him. I know we have all seen the pics on here.
Gordon,
How much cash does he want to spend to see if we are talking old school or recent stuff?

Mike - here's the wake behind a friends 89 Sunsport with only rear tank ballast at 21mph 65feet. When we are fully sacked 550lb each side 400lb on rear seat and 400lb in bow. Handles all the weight very well.
