i have intermitten problems with my fuel and volt-meter guages and sometimes even the oil-pressure one. the dealer replaced the module for it already, but it only worked for a few starts. than it goes all cookie again. i read on here a few month ago about a upgrated module revision on the latest mastercrafts......anybody has some info about it?.....it sucks when you are out and are not sure how much gas you got left.....thanx

I have a 2000 Mastercraft 205 and my MDC module went out and all the guages stopped working. My old module had a letter"F" after the number. The new one they send went to "G". I have not had any problems with the new one at all.

any other mastercraft owners out there who had problems?

We have the 2002 X-5 too and our fuel gauge has the same problem. Sometimes it just doesn't work and after a while it's working again.
Sometimes switching the main power switch on and off might work.

i am doing that already (Klaas),but it does not make any difference.
my dealer told me to turn the ignition on...wait till the guages set them self...and than start the engine! it does not change anything, plus it is annoying to wait every time you want to start the motor.
thanx for your input (george)
anybody else has problems with there MDC?

The 2001 boats had terrible MDC problems. Our 2002 has been flawless.

Bernie, we were told to always wait for the gauges to set before starting the motor. You don't do that normally?

Klaas, the dealer told me to do that as well, but the mechanic who is with mastercraft for many years, told me "that there is no need too"!!

when you have some time "Klaas", could you get me the revision "LETTER" of your MDC?
it is mounted under the dasch on the left side of your foot, on the center wall.
that would be great if you could!!!

During my water test, I was told to wait for the guages to set also. I was instructed that this also gives the engine a moment to check ambient air pressure or something to set the fuel injection?

Yes, I was told to let the guages set as well. I always do this but I have a few friends that would forget these instructions then the guages......the gas gauge in particular.... would not "read". I was told when this happens sometimes the boat needs to be powered off for sometime to re-set itself. What I do is ...say your out riding.....when you kill the engine....I always click it over to power the computer back up so when it's time to start again .....it's always good to go. If you make this a habit it's just not an issue.
