Went to New Melones yesterday to check out the lake, and camping facilities. We didn't get to the lake until about 02:00 pm. Didn't really have enough time to explore the whole lake. Next time I go, where are the good spots for boarding/skiing? The lake is too big to go searching around for a good spot. We launched from Tuttletown...

If you want to ski, go left when you leave the ramp and you will find the ski course at the end of the lake towards Table Mt. For boarding go left from the ramp about a 1/2 mile around the large island and you will find a nice cove by the camp area on your left. Or take a ride over to the hwy 49 bridge.Go right from ramp about 3/4 of a mile and veer right around to the bridge. From there you can back in further to the right to the 2nd bridge. The water back there is usually better when it is choppy by the launch.

Riding out by the 2cd bridge is the place to be. On the weekends however, don't think you'll be alone back there. EVERYONE goes there

I agree we spent the weekend there and past the second bridge was awesome. My suggestion is jut hit the water before 9 am and the whole thing is butter
