air- can you read the post directly above you...why the last "X-MAS THREAD" was NUKED..

... there is a possibility that airwarrior had been reading the thread and doing other things while the thread was open (about 12 minutes difference) and forgot to refresh before writing the post...(he may have never seen the post made before his) I am guessing this could happen to anyone. But if everyone can check the thread after they post and edit/ delete when needed, things will work out a little better

there should also be a rule that states that no transactions can be done through pm/email. apparently, people were picking and choosing who they wanted to give items to and saying things like, "sorry, this person emailed/pm'ed me first."

if im giving something up like which i offered mutiple things, it should be my choice to whom i give it away from..theres many people on here that i wouldnt give a sack of toenail clippings to..this thread is getting lame with all the intangibles and rules...the GIVER will determine who gets it, not the RECEIVER joe

I don't think there is any thing wrong with sending a pm. As long a you are fair about it and go inorder that you recieve the pm's. I had so many people wanting the subs I gave away. I gave every one a fair chance to respond. If I did not get a response I went to the next person in line.

People should not FREAK-OUT when something gets asked for more than once. The first 4 people who asked for the subs did not get back with me. The first person who said they could use it may have changed their mind. Quit worring about every one elses post. I don't think there was a rule that said if 1 person claims it that another person could not post about it.

I suspect the rules are more or less what they are, rules. Rules are just a way to govern an imperfect society in just about every case... But i think, for the most part we can all get along on here and be nice and have good intentions ... I think that joe had a good suggestion (to possibly help confusions) but i also agree that a giver definitely has a right to choose...

Even if we were to try to abide by posts to this thread alone and not PM's than id PERSONALLY say that anything prior is up to personal discretion (speaking in behalf of cliff and anyone else)

Joe, its a good point you brought up, it really alleviates confusion when you post right up on WW the results of your transaction. Keeps everybody updated. It's not a NECESSARY thing to do, whoever put the item up, in my eyes, has the ability to choose who gets it, but it really keeps everybody updated on what's happening with that particular gift.

with all of this in mind, I feel like I need to honor the wake worlder who contacted me first

I prefer to be asked by PM, reason being as the thread gets longer it, it becomes a pain to scroll down to see who's asking for what.
It's also much easier to use PM to document the time.
The Gifter should post in the thread if said item is still available or given away.

hmmm.. Some folks seem confused by the whole concept, but that isn't surpising. #3 above, seems to be the problem. Notice the title, it does not read "Christmas Freebie Thread". I wasn't watching the old thread till the end, (felt kinda stupid refreshing every 2 minutes so i could catch the new items that had not been claimed) but it felt good in the beginning. Not sure what happened at the end...

Of the 3 things i offered up, i only shipped one. Other claimers didn't follow the rules IMO and it is up to me.
