If it's a 134 and a 134, I would think the choice would be rather easy....

I guess you should go with the 134.

If the 134 is too long, I would go with the 134.

138? I think you mean 139. The 134 is big enough for you. Bigger board= more pop and softer landing. Its really your call. I doubt if you'll notice the difference on the pop or landing between the two. I have a friend your weight he rides a 132 Hyperlite tribute. He hates my 142. Thinks its huge. To each their own.

If it were up to me at your size I'd go with the 139. Might take a little getting used to but really a 134 is usually for pretty small people. My sister is 5'7" and 135lbs and rides a 137, she wouldn't dream of riding a smaller board.

What are the pros and cons of a bigger board vs a smaller board?

David, I have an 08 Ibex, same shape just different graphics and insert spacing. I ride the 139, and I'm 6'1", 155lbs, and the board is borderline too big for me. I ride the bigger size for the extra stance width, but the extra width makes it sit pretty high in the water. The 139 is recommended for people 160lbs and up, and I think it might be a little to much for you to ride in control when combined with the big rocker on it as well. Based on my experience, I would suggest the 134 for you, unless you are really looking for some insane pop out of the board.

Sorry, meant to add pros and cons. Bigger boards tend to give you more pop because there is increased flotation. Smaller boards have less swing weight, but unless you are a pro, you probably wouldnt notice it.

Yeah 1080's have been landed on 146's. Wouldn't worry about swing weight, newer boards are so light.
