Under the tower, i have never been a big fan of them on top.

I like them under the tower too but the reason I am trying them on top is because when I lay the tower down the middle speakers get in the way. Do they look stupid on top?

My vote is for under.

In discussing tower speaker positions the other day with AngryMike he questioned how sound travels over water. Does it bounce off, does it get absorbed, or is it just like traveling over land? I found this little high school physics explanation on the net that explains the situation pretty well. Looks like most of us need to angle our tower speakers a little higher.

I would choose function over form and put them at the top.

Under looks best and probably sounds best too. You may have to make some quick release brackets to accomodate the tower folding issue.

I dont think moving a speaker a foot up or down will make any difference, especially when your 70 feet away, but the angling might...

1st pictures looks the best to me, but if it gets in the way then go with what works for you. The top mount doesn't look bad.

It's not like people are going to point and laugh at you either way. Go with function.

I vote for under also with some quick disconnects. Looks like the ones on top have the tower right in front of them? This may block some of the sound?

I agree with brannon....under looks better but whatever works the best for your situation. If having them up top will be that much easier for breaking the tower down...i'd go up top. It doesn't look that bad

My speakers cans were installed under the tower at the MFG. When I lay the tower down in the garage, the faces of the speakers rest on the upholstry with a lot of weight. I simply cut a piece of 4X4 about 2 feet in length. Open up one of my V-drive compartments and prop the piece of wood up so the tower will rest on the wood.

I've seen other posts where people make PVC pipe stands that the tower will rest on as well.

Hang them under, it looks better.
