DRA (Gary and I) are looking to host a big poker tournament Friday night at Spring Ride. We would like to get a general consensus of how many people would play, buy in levels, etc... My thoughts would be to have proper tables, dealers, timed blind raises,etc.. I am thinking a $10-30 buy-in room and maye a $100 buy-in room. It would be a fully legit tournament with rules, dealers, drinks and such. I have hosted many of these before and I think the only way to do it is do it right and all out.

If you guys can chime in here that would be great. if there is enough intrest, I will start a list of players and figure the whole thing out.

Shuffle up and deal.......

Although I suck, I would prob go $20.00 buy. Providing I am still sober enough to see the cards.$100.00 is a little more than I would want to throw away though.

That is why he is thinking about doing two rooms with the different pay outs. What about re-buys are you going to have a time limit for them or not have them at all?

How would it work?

Jason, you can count on Jason (lol), my Jason that is. He plays a couple of times per month and also belongs to http://www.trainpoker.com/. So count him in for sure.

We have a poker table, chips, etc... if you need extra. Also, Fisher is a player but she's not coming up until Sat. night. Maybe this post will entice her to come early:-)

I would be down to do a $20 buy-in but that would be as much as I could do. Sounds like fun!

I'll play in the $100 tourney.

Nice. I am not a big fan of the re-buy as it takes forever to finish. My goal is to have a fun and competive tourney, but than get my swerve on. So to be there all night with re-buys is not my intial plan. This is a good intial response. I'll give it another day or so and than throw down the specifics and decide on amounts and such. Let's keep it rolling!

Hey Buffalow,
When and where is spring ride (sorry for not knowing)

Jason- I would have to agree with you on the reason not to have them because of how much extra time it would take. I would be down to play at the table for a Benjamin.

I'm definatly down with playing. Thing that sucks with $100 buy-in is everyone is so serious and the game takes forever because nobody wants to loose. saying that, I'm down for the $100 buy-in, or just $20, doesn't matter to me.

Id be down for any dollar buy in, let me know!

You know me brotha! I'd be down for the $100 prolly if it's a feeezeout. Not down with $100 and $100 multi-rebuys. Can get spendy. But, whatever...
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       01-19-2007, 3:03 PM Reply
how's this?

$100 buy-in = no limit hold 'em & no rebuys

$20 buy-in = limit hold 'em & 1 rebuy

Ryan, check out the events page and I am sure we can fully hook you up once, you fly in (hit me personally). If I can coax you on a board for the DU tourney you may even make some scratch on the deal.

Alright, Give me a couple of days and I'll work out all of the details for the 1st annual DRA Poker Tourney

I am down for 20 and a rebuy if we get the game started early enough. I need time to take your money and go spend it at the bar ;0)

Joe, keep it NL for tourney play. I like the rebuy for the twenty dollar tourney though.

I'm in for 20-50. If we do not do rebuy we can do cash game on the side that always works.

I was debating about making the trip, but if Chuck Payton wants to give me a hundred bucks in the poker game I might have to come

So let me get this right... it's poker in the rear and liquor in the front, or was it the other way around?

Cheers to the first annual DRA poker tournament at the third annual CIE spring ride (man that's a lot of acronyms).
