After those hour long sets, my hands are always hurting, so i'm looking for the handle that you find to be the easiest on the hands. Any opinions?

what's up brodie?!?!

07 or 08 Ronix Totem
07 or 08 Ronix North Handle

09 One/Volt (was the Totem)
09 Totem (wider version of the North Handle in carbon)

Ronix started these handles first I believe and Hyperlite/Accurate followed suit this year.

The Murray handle will be my next purchase. Very comfortable handle.

The Proline LG Handle is simply the best leather "chamois" grip available. Innovated here first in 2006 and proven over the years unlike Accurate / SL / LF Chamois style grips which were introduced just this year. Not only we have the LG but this year we introduced the first triangular shaped bar wrapped in a EVA core and LG grip - the LGT Handle. Finally, our 2009 Faction Handle has our new Microflex grip which is the LG v2.0 so to speak. Performance, durability, comfort, quality, and priced below all the formentioned handles. If you have any other questions feel free to email me at caseyj@ridecwb.com and I would be happy to answer them.

I could be wrong, but VLX Envy (cavlxenvy) might have meant that ronix was the first to do a chamois material WITH additional grip/bumps (hydra grip i think they called it?) and "memory foam"
but yea, proline was first on the chamois list. They have it on the synthesis handle (triangular) handle this year. might want to check that one. most popular grip on the most popular handle shape!
I got the new Proline Faction which is kinda like what i described above. i am excited to use it this year

of all the handles i have "touched" the totem handle is the cushiest... but it is also a little thicker than most just so you know. some prefer thinner handles. but that "memory foam" is amazing!

you obviously haven't touched an lf plush. it's the softest and lightest handle...ever!

The LF Plush is super soft - agreed. However, there is a problem if you use too much EVA under the chamois that the foam will tear away from the grip. Also, this increases the chance for the grip to bunch up and tear itself. Hopefully LF fully tested these issues and it turns out solid. Joe have you rode that handle for a couple months? How did it hold up? Just curious.
Old     (dakid)      Join Date: Feb 2001       01-12-2009, 1:40 PM Reply
i actually haven't ridden w/ it. i just saw it for the first time over the weekend at the sd boat show.

where's my rope and handle dude?!?!?
Old     (wakerider111)      Join Date: Jul 2006       01-12-2009, 1:47 PM Reply
i actually have had a chance to "touch" an LF plush, but in my own personal opinion i still think the ronix totem is top on cush

The main reason i have "touch" in quotes is to emphasize the fact that i have felt and touched a lot of handles but not actually ridden with the handles. i know it is quite a different thing to have a boat on the other end of the line pulling you ;)
If i could be PULLED with each of these (popular and "touched") handles maybe I might have a different opinion.

i usually try to have someone hold the other end of the handle in the store so i can at least get a minimal understanding of the "pull effect"... now there is an idea, what about a store with one of each handle hanging from a beam to hang on (joking and serious at the same time)

oops, just read some more posts that occured while typing the last

the plush i "touched" was an 07 i think... it was red and black.

i bet the '09 one is different... but then i would have to judge it compared to the 09 ronix totem and stuff to to be FAIR! maybe at the phoenix boat show i am hoping to attend

The Ronix North is my favorite handle. It has held up for over a year of hard riding and still looking as good as day 1. However, my buddies LG is all twisted and such. When I rode with his handle after riding my North Handle I couldn't stand it.
Old     (thedoubleupkid)      Join Date: May 2008       01-12-2009, 4:49 PM Reply
If your buddy is having any issues with his LG have him email me directly - caseyj@ridecwb.com. I'd like to see it personally. On the other hand, I can't remember if the brown North Handle is on it's 2nd carryover year or 3rd.

hey ropeking, why dont they make the lg float? i love the handle but im tired of pulling it off the bottom of the lake and bringing up all kinds of stuff with it. that thing sinks like a rock.

The Ronix North is the best handle ever. I ride FOREVER and my hands never get sore. Think of it as like a handle with little pillows in it for your fingers.

i use the Ronix North too and love it, i still have baby-soft hands!!

I like the original Proline Synthesis, I've been singing that things praises on WW forever. I still have my original, it has held up incredibly well. I almost like the foam more than the chamois. Kinda like the old Premier handle (which was awesome) but softer.

Proline Synthesis/ 08 LF team. Best handle ever. The triangle grip makes it so it fits in your hand perfect. Its not carbon either so if you ole and get too close to your face you dont knock yourself out.

i rode the Ronix North all last yr and the only problem i found w/ it was the seam on the backside of the grip would do some serious work on the calluses on your fingers if you ever popped the handle... other than that i loved it... investing in the new murray for 09

Yeah I'm working on that. This is my first year as the Proline Product Manager. The end caps will fill if the seal isn't super tight. The plan is to make the bar waterproof therefore eliminating the use of floats, injected foam, etc. that increase the weight of the handle. Superlight = good. Floats = lame. If you have a super sinker email me and I'll hook you up with warranty for a freshie.

I got a new Ronix North for Christmas because mine was pretty thrashed. And I will probably take it back and get the Totem since it has the same feel just a wider handle for my fat hands....

I like the Proline LG too... And so does everyone that has ever ridden on mine... I used to use Straightline and I had a handle break at the endcap, and I could never even get a response from their warranty department... So after 10+ years of being a Striaghtline customer, never again.... And to hear that Proline will waranty a handle that sinks is great... Mine only does occasionally, and not to the bottom like was mentioned before.... My vote is Proline LG

Ronix north handle all the way, mine is like a damn anchor though, Might have to invest in some kind of float for it before it catches on a tree.

I HATE, I mean I really HATE that Accurate does not make the old Premier handle anymore. That thing is by FAR THE VERY BEST HANDLE EVER MADE!!!

So the Ronix North has a flotation problem?
Old     (hco)      Join Date: Jun 2006       01-19-2009, 12:28 PM Reply
Some do some don't. If I don't push the end caps on tight and squeeze/drain all the water out of the handle after each pull it tends to become a bit of an anchor.
Old     (wakex2wake)      Join Date: Apr 2008       01-19-2009, 12:38 PM Reply
the north i used last yr didn't at all
Old    sdahockey21            01-19-2009, 8:14 PM Reply
The 08 Ronix Handles were modified slightly to fix any sporadic flotation problems that some people may have experienced with the 07 Handles. So no fear, all the 08 and newer Ronix Handles will not double as an anchor between sets. Ha Ha

I might have to 'warranty' my ronix handle then, I can't stand having it sink, my lake used to be farmland so I know it will catch eventually.

Me too, but with the totem does the rounded sides really make all that much of a difference for the higher price? I can't really decide between the 2.

John, too bad there is none in Ontario Also Joe, I doubt you would be willing to ship it up to Canada, but if you are willing, around how much are you looking for?

blake, make me an offer. please factor in shipping to canada. i'll probably use usps to ship since they're cheaper (i think).

As much as I would love to take it off you Joe, the shipping alone is pretty much the price of the handle and I don't want to be ripping you off or anything. Thanks for the offer though.
