I'm sure everyone was wondering, what ever happened to the tower box Enriched built? Well, it's been re-born. Better then I expected. It would have been easier and much more cost effective to just scrap the project and do something else, But we told the customer we would build him a one-of-a-kind tower box and that's what we did. With the help of Eric Sedletsky,(he does boat repairs, gel coating and repairs, paint and body work, pin stripeing, airbrushing). The box was repaired and was used to cast a mold. The new box looks exactly the same, is made out of fiberglass only, finished in gel coat, is 10 times stronger and weighs half as much. Here are som pics. I'm brave

This tower box is built the same way the hull of the boat is. The box is made only of fiberglass(wich is around 3/16" thick)and gelcaot. There is no wood, no bondo and no paint.

Yea, but it doesn't have the same structural support that the boat has and will flex a lot more than the boat will. Im sure it will last a lot longer, but eventually it will get spider cracks. But so do boats after 20+ years.

If this thing is still around in 20 years i'll be a proud father. As far as structure. I'm pretty sure that 4 to 5 layers of 3oz fiberglass mat and vinylester resin is enough structure. The box has alot of flex in it. There is more gapping to the tower and the legs of the box now float. Spider cracks? Maybe...in 20 years. If so. It can be gel repaired on the boat. For those of you who would like to see it in person. It will be at our show/sale on July 14. Thanks.

With the shape of it, does the bow of the boat rise? It looks like a big wing up there. I think it is a good idea, but just the wind pressure on that would, in my uneducated opinion, possibly break the fiberglass near the mounts on the box. In other words, the wind pressure and the flex from the boat might crack it.
