My tweeters on my Component Tower Speakers shut off after an hour of listening at a little less than 3/4 volume. Is this a common thing? Is this caused by being over powered or under powered? I have Lighting Wakeboard & Accessories 6.5 Component Speakers. If this happens too many times will the tweeter be permanently damaged?

cheap speakers more than likely..l.they are shutign off due to heat mroe than likely. My guess is they are gettign to much power. Most peopel drive their 6.5 componets way to hard in boats.

Don't expect a speakers that cna only handle 65 watts rms to be heard very loudly in a boat environment.
