Hey Moomba LSV owners,

How are you running your ballast, wake plate setup? I've been running with front ballast full and wake plate about half up, but the wake seems to be very wide. I'm an beginner/intermiediate riders and I seem to be going high and far, but not W2W. I know all the progressive edging tips and don't think that's the issue, just getting more of a vert wake than ramp.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

What speed are you running? If you're a beginner, I would suggest slower speeds (19-21) and a shorter rope to help you go w2w.

Agree with Bryan on this one. Pick the speed you are comfortable with and shorten the rope right away until you can go w2w.

Bill, using the front ballast as we discussed is perfect, don't put any water in the rear bags at this time. It is still early in the season, and any professional will tell you "it's not time for the Super Bowl yet" agree with the above, shorting the line length up to 55 or 60 feet. You'll get W2W then. Have you signed up for BRISCO yet? He really helps alot! Bill

I'vee been riding at 21 or 22, depending on the chop factor at 70'. I've messed around with the wake plate and ballasts (filled front and partial driver side to counter people weight). The wake is awesome, but seems to be sending me up, to a point. I'll try coming in a bit. Last season was my first full season wakeboarding and I was able to land heel side wake to wake consistently. Is it unreasonable to think I'll start the season where I left off last season?

Bill, I haven't signed up for the clinic (yet). Need to figure out lodging.

What boat were you riding behind last year? The wake might be a bit bigger and more intimidating. You'll get it and you'll be adding ballast and people to make the wake bigger in no time!!

Kraig, I'll take you up on that. Were you able to get out today?

Bryan, I had a '97 Sea Ray 175 we bought as a test boat (make sure we were going to use a boat before we spent a ton of money). I tried and tried to make it a wakeboard boat before realizing it just couldn't be done.

Yep, we came from a '91 Sea Ray 180. As my cousin says, "The Sea Ray wake is like bunny hopping a curb." Your LSV wake is A LOT bigger!!
