Who's going and who's bringing the umbrellas?

http://www.weather.com/outlook/driving/print/USWA0339

I guess it wouldn't be true NW Wakeboarding if we get wet both on and off the water. I;ll see everyone Friday night. Drive safe.

Rain...
We are driving over Friday morning.

I knew it would rain if I waxed my boat. Guess I should plan on using my bimini after all.

Looks like our winter riding conditions will start a bit earlier than} normal. Oh well at least the water will be smooth!

Kim and I are coming Saturday morning, hope to be there by 9am. Just for the morning and the early afternoon unfortunately, but some water time is better than none.

Any decisions from Troy, Dave, Dave, Greg?????

This isn't looking good......Northwest Wet Fest...I will bring my white t-shirt...we can have a wet t-shirt contest. College flashbacks are occuring thinking about.

Who has a Bimini on their boat? I want to ride with you....I haven't wakesurfed in the rain yet, maybe this weekend will be the first time.

looking better for us.. What is the water temp? does the hotel/motel have a dock? we can leave our boats in the water at night? This place got a dam hot tub?

Hey Jeff what time you guys leaving? You taking Highway 2? How many guys are leaving friday morning? We should roll over there in a caravan... Cliff, when you leaving?
Old     (jaegermaster)      Join Date: Sep 2002       09-13-2004, 12:51 PM Reply
Greg, yes on the dock, but bring ropes and bumpers. Not sure on the water temp, but the Columbia never gets really warm. You can leave your boat in at night, but everyone usually pulls them. There are two launches (both free) within 500' of the hotel. There is also plenty of parking. No on the hot tub, but the pool is usually pretty warm. We will be coming over Snoqualmie nd Blewitt passes to avoid Levenworth, but we are also not pulling a boat. See you Friday night.

Thanks Brad. Tuff Luck on the hot tub deal... Nothing like a good Hot Tub soak and some ICE cold jager shots after a day on the water!

Yep I have a bimini… surfs up! Cliff has a bimini too but does not “Thurf” behind the Mob. My surf board got ripped off… so bring one and I’m in.

As long as it’s not hail… a little rain is not too bad. NWHC!

For those rolling over that have not been there… there are a few BBQ’s to grill up dinner. Bring coals or buy them at the hardware store. Most of the rooms have small fridges too. I normally bring a cooler like camping… eating out every meal gets old. Yes you can get breakfast at the gas station if you have not heard.
Warning… If you need real coffee… you better bring your own!

Greg… not sure what time I am rolling out… 10:00 on Friday AM is my guess. Probably stop part way and grab lunch. Yep Hwy 2. If you want to try and roll over together let me know. I can call you later this week to confirm. I got your number in my cell.

We normally pull the boats at night… if the wind picks up… your boat may end up sitting on the dock! We also pull them to fill em with out having to lug gas cans.

The hotel has a dock and about 100 yards down the river is another public dock to tie up on.

Jeff-
Sounds good. I'll be pulling mine out at the end of the day as well. I would not be able to sleep leaving it tied up... Anyway, yeah around 10 or so, whatever Im easy. I may cut out on thursday if I can so either I'll call you or Give me a shout. I got a surf board but havent played much with the ballast set up on my boat as far as surfing goes, maybe I sould pick up some additional bags!

G

Greg - I can bring some bags for ya..dont' worry about buying any yet till you play with it and know what works. That is what I did. Although I found cement blocks and lead work better in my boat, than all water. If I bring my truck I can bring my cement blocks.

I will see about getting one of the wakesurf boards of my choice, Broadcast or Chubby...but someone went and traded in the Landlock I was using for a wakeboard, so I am not sure what I can locate.

I so wish I could head over when I get back from NY on Thursday.....but I can't get there until Saturday morning.

Myself and Crew will be heading over for our first experience at NWWF!! We figured somebody from the east side had to come over and represent.

If all goes well I should have the O'Brien Valhalla, size 138 and 143, for anyone interested in checking it out!!

Should be rolling in Friday afternoon, can't wait to meet all of you.

Later,

Hey Laci- I think the cement blocks my be a bit much for my carpet and Gel coat! You know after a couple of beers and all... Lead my work though. I'll bring the landlock and a 600#sack. If you want, bring another bag and some lead.

All this chatter makes me want to leave right NOW...

Greg - Yeah no kidding I wish we could all ditch work and take off early. No sweat on the cement, I probably am bring my car anyways. Just so you know though, the cement blocks are in sacks, with blankets wrapped around them for my boats safety and my safety. Although I still have the guys take them in and out of the boat, too heavy for me.

Hey Folks,

I'm rolling out Friday at about 7am, so I'll probably be hitting Pateros by about 11am.

The weather doesn't look that bad, cloudy with a 25% chance of rain, and winds 5-7. I'll take that kind of water any day.

Hahn,

What are you talking about? You'll probably have to peel that boat off of a tree after this weekend.

Stay safe Dude!

Ok, for those not "In the know" here is the deal. NWWF is what we call our end of the summer get together. It is held in Pateros, Wa on the Columbia River.

http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&countryid=US&addtohistory=&sear chtab=address&searchtype=address&address=&city=PAt eros&state=Wa&zipcode=&search=++Search++

The water usually looks like this.

The only real place to stay unless you have a camper/travel trailer is at the Pateros Motor Inn. http://www.lakepaterosinn.com Unfortunatly I think all of the rooms are booked. Anyone who wants to come is welcome. Pateros is also pretty close to Entiat and Chelan, so I guess you could stay there and make day trips up. It looks like Cliff will be there first on Friday and everyone else later Friday or Saturday. If you need more info shoot me an e-mail.

Greg, not sure how many boats. I would guess 5 or more???

No worries. Hope you had a good time at the game. Not sure about the trip plans for Vegas again…. Might me an option…but no trailer issues this time!

Hahn… Nice pic. So why is the cover still on the boat?? Glad to see you are taking advantage of all that butta. Sounds like you should be taking up kite boarding with all the weather you guys have been getting. Let us know if you are in Seattle over the winter… we can hit the lake or make a trip to the snow.

Brad,
Enough with the pics…. I need to concentrate and actually get some work done today…. you are not helping.

Not going to be able to make it this year. Kids soccer games all day Saturday and a lot of family in town over the weekend. Unfortunately, I have a funeral to go to on Sunday that I need to be at. Was going to sneak over for a day or so, but I just can't swing it. I can blow off a soccer game here and there, but not a funeral.

Porter and Dave Maddock will be over there representing and showing everyone how to go BIG. I'll be thinking of everyone! Be safe and have a blast.

(is that a real name???? ),thanks for the info. Yeah, the drive doesn't look THAT bad. Used to do similar for INT tournaments in S.C. Makes for a looong but happy day as long as you get on the water!!!!

Laci,
If you're driving over Sat morning, do you want to caravan? Leave between four and five am? yeehaw!

Camila - If you can keep up we can caravan. I have been told I am a California driver....fast that is. We are thinking 5am (I think Kim will sleep and I will drive).

We go I-90 and through the mountains that way. Quicker for us, we live right off I-90.

Although I have to say....I know my way to Chelan, but the little bit further to Pateros I have never driven. Should be an adventure.

bsflower, I sent you an e-mail yesterday about the Patero's trip. A group of us from the east side are coming over, and I was hoping to touch base w/ a few of you guy's from Seattle. I talked to Cliff last night, and he gave me some info. on the trip. I was hoping to catch up w/ you since you are coming over as well. Check your hotmail account, and give me a call if you can. Also I was able to get a room finally at the Patero's Motor Inn! Sounds like it's going to be a very fun weekend :-)

Hey bsflower,

Don't run up the Chelan side of the river. If you head over the river in Wenatchee and up the east side of 97, you'll save yourself about a half hour of driving.

They have a liquor store/Ace Hardware (not a joke), but you definatly want to bring your own beer. There is a store about 15 minutes up the river (Safeway?) but their selection sucks and their prices are high. Other than that the gas station has a prety good selection but you'll pay for it. Most rooms have mini-fridges but like Jeff said above, a cooler works better.

Just got word, I have a third person coming. He is the wakesurfer. In fact, I don't think he is bring any of his wakeboarding gear, just wakesurfing. Several boards (all inland surfers of course, support the Lk. Samm team), bags and maybe some lead.

He was pretty excited when I told him about the event.

My drysuit has booties so I use sandal bindings when I ride with it and when I dug them out tonight I broke one (it's old and well used!!).
If anyone has some sandal bindings laying around, would you do me the favor and PLEASE bring them so I can use my drysuit if I need to? I would be most appreciative because I don't think I have enough time to go buy new ones before I leave!!! Otherwise I'll just have to buck up and wear a wetsuit! Hopefully that won't be too cold (yes, I'm a lightweight when it comes to being cold!). Thank you.

BRRRRRR!!!

It was cold and windy, but I still had a great time meeting all of you and hanging out!!! Thanks to Cliff for the pull and to Sierra and Nevada, for making us eastsiders feel welcome.

See you all next year,
jjakober

Even though I didn't ride, and it was cold and windy except for the last day (of course)I still had a great time and it was much fun meeting all of you! The beer bong kicked ass!
Can't wait for the photos!!
Cheers,
Sierra (aka Lisa)
