1994 American Skier, Advance II

My friend found one for a good price in pretty good condition with Mercruiser EFI 350 and only 396 hours.

I remember someone posting an american skier with a pretty good wake, but I couldn't find the post. Would this be a good boat, or should he look for a 2001. I have a 2001, and we would be riding each other's boats. So I think it would be cool to have different boats to ride.

Also, the guy fabricated what looks like a wedge, which kind of scares me (and him).

Fabricated wedge. My friend is going to ask more questions about it. The guy said it 'made a bigger wake'. I thought the guy was talking about a wake plate, not a 'wedge'.

That right there would be a deal breaker if it were me. Wedges are for Malibu boats and even if the guy beefed up the transom to withstand the added force, the wake could be really strange when its deployed.
