I have a debate in my head right now. Do I upgrade my current 2006 X-1 for the following: 2006 X-Star Red with Blk. with 1** hours MCX 4 tower speakers heater Ipod adapter Bimini Mooring cover PP Pass or 2008 X-2 Red Metal Flake with black MCX 2 tower speakers Ipod Bimini Mooring cover The X-star is a couple thousand cheaper, but it's a used boat verus something that is brand new.. Thoughts and opinions are welcome.. quick pics of the X-star

Used X Star. As soon as you by the X-2 it is worth less then the used X Star. Don't eat the depreciation

I wouldn't trade my 05 X-2 (similar to your X-1) for a picklefork X-2. The new X-2 has more space but I much prefer my wake.

X-Star. Our wakeboard school has both and all of us that work the school pick the X-Star every time when we ride ourselves and have both boats sitting there. Plus, Ben C is exactly right with the depreciation. And that's a good looking X-Star!

Obviously, the Xstar is the flagship, but it depends on if you have a big enough garage and have a lot of people all the time. Any boat I own will only sit in the garage when I'm not riding and my current setup isn't big enough for a xstar, so I went with a x2. Greg, Check your email regaurding the x2 question. I don't think the wake of the x2 is bad. Personally, I like it better than the x1.

Boat wouldn't sit in Garage... it would sit at the dock, ready to go at any moment. (usually on weekends, or the odd weeknight) We keep it at the dock end of April until end of October (weather permitting) Trailer would be a pain to hide on our cottage property... but I think I can find room. It would sit VVVVV most of the year..

man that looks like a friggin awesome place to hang your hat. I bet that lake has some beautiful scenery. To the topic, I would go used x-star if it is in good condition and it looks like that is the case. I didn't see you say that the X-2 has PP either, I'm sure it does but if it doesn't then you don't want to have to add that later. X-star all the way.

X-STAR...... Done... ha, ha, ha. They'll both suit you, but the X-star is a bada$$ machine. I love the space and the wake. Add some extra weight and prepare to be spoiled. FWIW, we went from a pair of '05 X2's as our daily rides to a '07 X-star. I still love the X2 wakes (some days I like it better than the X-star), but the X-star wake is big, meaty and sweet once you get used to riding it. It's never picky and isn't sensitive to moving people around inside the boat (nothing like a Supra or SAN anyway). We'll be getting a '08 once spring rolls around. For me the only question is "which motor?".... Have fun. You'll be jonsin' for summer with that thing sitting around.

Hopefully will be able to check out the X-Star in person next week. Looking like they might end up being closer to the same price. Are the 08 features such as the VDIG really that good? I know it's just a toy....but.. Are there any draw backs to the X-star beside more fuel consumption and lack of water ski wake.. if needed (rarely) Mind you water skiing would be teaching a friend on a combo set.. can't be that bad...

x-star......I always felt that the x -2 while having the width upfront didn't have the length...to me feels cramped, cutoff......the xstar is the way to go plus if you go with the x2 then you will want to upgrade again next year...so might as well go for it all now!
