natural vs covin

any1 ridden both boards? what are any similarities and differences, are the 2 boards very similar?
ridden the natural once and loved it, just seeing how similar it would be with the b covin?

Ridden both and here is my .02's. The Covin will get you more pop, but not quite as fast. The Natural is quicker an offers way softer landings. For me I switched to the Natural because of the landings and tracking. I hear the new Obrien DECADE coming out post surf expo will offer more pop than the Natural but still keep all the things we love about the Natural, i.e. speed, landings, tracking, etc. Both boards are great, my knees were just happier with the Natural...

Is the new Covin comparable to the older Hyperlite 3ds that Chad used to ride?

The Natural all the way...I love the board -lose but tracks great, nice 3 stage for good pop and predictability, and its super light.

the covin is one of the fastest boards out there, sitting high in the water and very little drag. its wide profile and speed drives hard off the wake up or out depending on how far your approach is. its super light and snappy but also very smooth and predictable. definitely worth a look.

Can't say much about the Natural, but I have ridden the Covin a ton. Very fast, edgy, responsive, light, and consistant. The pop of the wake os one of the somoothest and most consistant I have ridden. Also the board ides smalle than it is. Their 143 rides like a 140 from most other companies if you ask me. I am more of a progressive-3stage abrubt-continous guy so I prefer a little more snap out of my board at the top of the wake then the Covin gave me. I had a blast on one though. That whole line about the forward momentum giving you a softer landing is def true. I was taking my tricks a little more into the flats than normal and the board would land smooth. The oher thing I liked about the Covin that stands out was that whne you had it on edge it was locked, but when you wanted it slide it it was loose. My other board I ride (Gator Prospect) is har to get to break free

I loved every characteristic out of this board except for the lack of snap at the top of the wake. It wasn't that it was kicking me high, just the feel it gave when it did. I like feeling that subtle kick from the hybrid rockers. That subtle kick is like my mental note that now I can start my trick
