are the landings soft and what about the speed. right now i have the premier and i feel that its pretty slow. could a board being slow hold back my progression.

The premiere will not slow your progression.

also my bindings are pretty big on me so would it be easy to come down on a landing and break my ankle. im thinking about getting the shanes (ot) or the watsons.

does closed toe make that big of a difference and do you ever jam your toes in the front of them

Cons are they got rid of the plaid

I have the 142 and I would not trade it for any other board. I have never felt as comfortable and stable on a board as I do with the watson. Great pop, soft landings and very light.

I think the premier is really slow unless you are riding 23mph or faster. I love the watson it rides fast and loose with lots of predictable pop. I have an 06 and an 07 and I actually prefer the 07 graphics. Being from Seattle, I burnt out on plaid in the early 90's. As for the closed toes, only down side is that they don't dry as well as open toe and they also tend to fill up with water and take too long to drain while you are riding.

I haven't jammed my toes yet(8 sets)

i have the '07 board and '07 limited ot...i really like the board, but i'm getting a little heel lift in the bindings. i wear 10.5 or 11 shoe depending on maker...i have 10-11 binding. sometimes it will put my toes to sleep but i still feel a little lift...don't like that at all....but maybe my foot is shaped like that pink foot you buy off ice cream truck? anyone else feeling me?

eric, i also wear 10.5 or 11. i dont know if they will fit my foot right maybe i should try out the size up.Not sure on the open or closed to yet. im still deciding to go with the shanes or watsons but im definetly buying the watson board.

yea...I really like the board...and I love how snug the bindings are but at the same time so easy to get in and out of. I definitely would NOT go a size bigger! Think hard before making that choice. I also haven't done the heat mold thing yet....maybe that will help. I have not tried the Shanes, but two of my crew ride the watson with shanes....all '07. Good luck.....

I have been on quite a few boards over the last two years and the Watson is my favorite for what that is worth. I am sort of an advanced rider with 6 or 7 inverts and 3 or 4 spins. It has the perfect blend of all board aspects to me.

The plaid is a little gay though.

the '07 doesn't have plaid....for what it's worth. i did like the matte black top sheet though....
