We just wrapped up a two-day wakesurf and wakeboard event in Columbus Ohio. To my knowledge the first ever wakesurfing event in the state. In all we had 21 wakessurfing entries. Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan were represented. One family drove up from their summer home in Tennessee to compete. The age range was from 8 to 46. Kaley's parents emailed me a few times asking if there would be a division for children - for their 8-year old daughter. Well, Kaley took top honors, at the tender age of eight, in pig tails, and with a tooth fairy smile?

The Batteries in our camera died in the middle of the awards, if you were there and have pictures, please contact me.

The results are:
Men’s Novice
1st Mike Ash
2nd Bryon Hourt
3rd Brian Miller

Women’s Novice
Kelly Sullivan

Mens’s Advanced
1st Todd Tucker
2nd Scott Sutterfield
3rd Bill Lanz

Women’s Advanced
Kaley Gordon
Jordan Lausch
Ali Lausch

Here's most of the competitors, some of the Indy boys were demoing wakesurf boards (Shred Stixx).

Jerry Price with Shred Stixx also donated a demo board to the event. That was the first time anyone at the event had seen his boards in person.

Also Jeff Aitken, with Hyperlite donated a Roam to the event, thanks.

Ed,

Thank you very much for the wonderful event you put on. It was well worth the drive from Tennessee. I've included a few pictures of Kayley and her brother Robbie (4th place in the men's advanced). At one point the wave was splashing above Kayley's head. It was the biggest wake that we had ever seen somebody surf behind.Upload

Folks, keep sending pictures!

The Gordon family was awesome, they stepped up and helped out at the event. I even had Roy running as dock starter for wakeboarding on Sunday.

Jim Gillam was kind enough to send me pictures that he and Don Carrier took at the Scioto Wakefest.

The perfect judge (Dean in the hat), a wakesurfer, ocean surfer, trains other snowboard judges, and he's the right size to sit in the back corner of the boat, what more could you ask for?

We had a few falls too.

I think Jordan had a better fall, more artistic points, right Dean?
