Perfect Pass Wakeboard Pro backlighting

I've got an X-Star 2004 with the OEM setup for the Wakeboard Pro in the X-Pod. Since all the gauges have nice red backlighting when running the nav lights, the white backlight of the Wakeboard Pro not only looks horrible, but also ruins my night vision.

Does anyone know if the backlight intensity can be reduced (and if so, how do you do it), and/or can the backlighting be changed to red? As an alternative, I've considered putting a toggle switch on the dash to be able to turn the backlighting off completely, so if anyone knows which wire controls the backlight this might also be helpful.
