I got sick of having to scroll down in the other one!

Question - Anyone have a Variable Speed Circular Polisher i could borrow for a little while? i'm wanting to spiff up the boat before spring. yes i know that i could do it with some elbow grease, but i'm feeling lazy.

Hey Minnesota gang. I just got back from Aruba. What an awesome time! It's the first time I ever boarded on the ocean.

Jesse, glad to hear your surgery went well.

AMO, just curious I ran across your boat (White Blk 08 Xstar) on this site and multiple others which appears to be for sale. Thinking about upgrading my boat, and was wondering what the story is on yours. I see its at Midwest MC and wondering if you work there taking trades etc.
Old     (amo)      Join Date: Jan 2009       02-25-2009, 5:20 PM Reply
I am a private citizen. I do not work at Midwest MC, the price of the boat is negotiable to an extent. I will consider all "reasonable" offers. That means, you make me an offer, and I decide how reasonable it is, or basically, how badly do you want my boat. It is loaded with all the goodies you really need. 400hp LY6, heaters, PWT ballast, dual subs (not really a need, but it sounds better) . Have you looked at the pictures? If so, I am interested in your honest opinion and the best offer you can make me. I do not know what MC dealers are selling their left over '08's for at the moment, but you might want to look at one of the leftover's Midwest MC has. Let me know. Thanks for the interest.

The draw of being one of the first to see the movie isnt enough?

We are working out the details and it looks like yes, but only if you are of age.

Hey Guys -

I'm kicking around the idea of buying the rents' old xstar and am curious of any cheap places you guys might know for storage during the season. I live in Golden Valley just off 169 (not too far from Medicine Lake). I'm just thinking a non heated garage not too far from my place would be fine.

Any thoughts?

Jeff, I have a 21 footer and I pay $300 for NON HEATED indoor storage in Oakdale MN. If it is worth the drive for you. The contract goes from November to April I believe, then I store my boat there outdoors for the rest of the season for like $130. Its a steal!

Does anyone have any access (yours our a close buds) to a SAN 230 or 236? I am hoping someone knows a person that knows a person that would be willing to give me a few pulls behind them for a few days? Upgrading is looking to be a real possibility in 09/early 10, so I'm trying to get as much water time in/behind the boat hull as possible; I will definitely cover all typical gas/food/whatever costs, just curious if anyone has any connections that might be interested in me tagging along for a few days?

Nice Chad! Now you wont be wearing that sexy skin tight suit with a hole in it, which essentially defeats the purpose of the dryness of a drysuit eh!? Now I can say that next month I get my boat out of storage and we can say (some of us) that next month we will be boarding!

Sinko, Chad, Erik (tietz/anyone else) - Still in for a first, cold ride again in April with me?!

Mikey, that is mine. I figured I would throw it up there and see if I get any interest in it. If I do, I get a V drive. If I dont, I keep it for a while longer. Besides, I found out I wont be getting much use out of it and it may just stay where it is in the garage this year :-( I just got word there is a lot of electrical work in ND, so guess where I am moving to. I will be leaving in about 3 weeks. It really sucks but I havent worked in more than 13 months. I need to get some cash flow and it is a 5-10 job now and possibly going 6-10 or 6-12s by summer and they are paying sub pay. I MIGHT be coming home once a month. Just when the season is gonna start. It just pisses me off like no other.

Dude....that sucks.

My neighbor lost his job, apt and they're trying to take his Mustang back too. :-( Sad times. He is a really really nice guy. He found another place and another job but it pays way less. he has too many toys and can't/won't get rid of them.

When you ARE in town I'm sure we would ALL give you a pull or three! Maybe once MN starts seeing some of that stimulus funding construction will pick up again. I would think that with the light rail, and possible MN-Chicago rail there would be some work. Medtronic is always hiring...

It is just a temp deal. I will be back some weekends and holidays. Liz will be satying back and working and paying the house bills. This is gonna be a overtime with sub pay deal so I will see how long I can stand being gone and how much of the summer I can stand to burn away working.

It is gonna be a rough one :-(

There is a good core riding seen in NC! Just post up on wakeworld.com that your looking for crew and you should have no problem catching some pulls.

So is anyone getting the boats out yet or makin plans for the first pull of the year?? Man im chompin at the bit to get out, really hoping it doesnt snow again..
Havent heard anything on the contest at white bear lately, i hope were not giving up on tryin to get somethin put together (i know we have a little ways before riding season just havent seen it brought up in a while) Maybe we could get together at the Deviant premier and really get the ball rolling.. Cant wait!!!
Oh, and does anyone know if you can check your board on a plane as a piece of your luggage or does it have to be in a bag??

Its gonna snow tomorrow. boooooooo!!!!! I'm getting pretty sick of these "fake" springs we get for a few days. I work at a ski shop and everyone gets psyched about the snow, except me! haha. When do you think the ice will come off the good sized lakes around the cities? I'm guessing April 10th...

Yeah dude i hear ya, im getn sick of these "fake" spring days too.. Im pretty much sick of snowboarding too, all i want to do is wakeboard. I dont know when the ice will be off the lakes up here..Back in iowa it was usually early april to mid april, but still pretty darn cold...Wish i had a dry suit for the early spring rides, but i guess ill just suffer with a wet suit haha
Old     (ironj32)      Join Date: Jan 2007       03-09-2009, 5:27 PM Reply
mark, i'd suggest UPS'n them if you have someone that lives where you're goin'...maybe there is a board shop? i just got back from Ft Myers yesterday! i shipped two boards in one box for $30 each way. if you check it at the airport, you'll run the risk of having to spend some major $ if they deem it the same as a surfboard. oh yeah, it felt great to strap on the board and get to ride in trunks!

also, yes my boat is pretty much set to go. i keep it in the garage all winter and do some minor maintenance things....keeps me sane!
Old     (amark)      Join Date: Nov 2008       03-09-2009, 6:30 PM Reply
How do they deem a surfboard?? Im goin to texas for my sisters graduation for the weekend in may and was planning on hitting up TSR while im there, cant wait to ride the cable!!! itll be my first time.
Man i bet it felt good to get out on the water, idk if i would have been able to come back haha. Where did you board while you were down there? I think if i had a boat in my garage i would deffinantly set up a tv and watch wakeboarding videos and eat, drink and sleep in it at this point haha..
Old     (ironj32)      Join Date: Jan 2007       03-09-2009, 7:33 PM Reply
that's a good question, but people are pretty dense when it comes to wakeboarding. i had my slingshot bindings with both types of binding plates...they really didn't know what they were. probably looked like a mine or something?

it's the land of 10K lakes...the scene is awesome out here (at least from May-September)! if you want to be specific, there are 11,842 lakes in Minnesota that are 10 acres or larger in size). you shouldn't have any problem finding some regular pulls.

Just got my hands on an HSE volume control (Mike, Maybe I'll still get the boost box, uh oh!)

Now, all I need is an equalizer...does anyone have a hookup to get an inexpensive one, or have one they want to get rid of? I dont want to throw down a ton of cash but I know I am going to need one. Thanks!
Old     (tuneman)      Join Date: Mar 2002       03-12-2009, 12:59 PM Reply
Sinko, you bet man, I'll hook you up. Shoot me an e-mail and I'll get you a price when I get home.

Eder, Audio Control makes the best equalizers, but they're not cheap. The best would be a quasi-parametric style. If you get a cheap EQ you're just asking for a degraded signal and noise.
