Just a quick question abou which boat between natique team super air 210 or Malibu wakesetter vlx have the steepest and stiffer wake for wakeboarding ? Also does anyone if there are going to be any major changs in either of these boats in 2013? Any answers would be appreciated.

Why dont you go out and test drive/ride them for yourself? Would you really just buy a boat based on whats said on this forum?

The 210 has the steeper/harder wake of the two. Even the new (2006+) one.

^^^^^ I concur that the 210 wake is steeper and harder. The vlx wake has more transition/ramp.

Never ridden either but know guys who have ridden both and from everything I hear it would also go to the 210.

I ride both wakes often. (Own a 210, one friend with malibu vlx, one with lsv).

The 210 is much steeper, harder and narrower. VLX is pure ramp. the 210 wake is much harder on your body with how often you land in the flats after going straight up.

Does anything have a steeper and harder wake then the SAN210?

Thanks I am still going to test ride each boat. Just wanted some opinions. No one has heard of any changes besides being more expensive. In 2013?

I would argue that the supra 21 v is the steepest wake on boats today . They mellowed the 210 wake out in 2007 and the 21 v has moved to that. Nothing will however beat a 1999-2006 210/ super sport hull.

^^^^ yeah, those pre '07 SANTE 210's were like hitting a curb. Murder on the old knees.

Epic is the old 210 wake on steroids.... steepest and most firm wake out there today IMO

My neighbor has a 2005 SANTE and hitting a curb is the best description for hitting that wake.

Question is...after tripping over the curb is it easy for someone to land lol. Ive only been behind the 2010 & newer wake of the 210. Going out on a buddies old excel that has the vdrive and 210 hull. How much difference we talking?

Excel is a different hull not related to the the Super Sport/ SAN in any way, but it does have a very solid 'Nautique' wake.

I get a kick out of watching friends who own other boats cross my wake when they haven't ridden on mine in a while. I just look for that "holy crap" look on their faces when they get booted the first time crossing. Getting huge air off of a SAN is relatively effortless. I've had two ACL surgeries to prove it too. Getting old sucks.

LR3, I've had both boats. (excel/barefoot and SAN) The excel is very similar to the old 210 wake. Just smaller and a tad wider.

Than a newer 2010? Yes:
*205v/old Xstar
*old 210
*SAN230's, properly weighted
*Epic
*G23 (hard to describe, just strap in and hold on)

Than an old 210? Hard to say.
*It might not be as an abrupt steepness, but the 230 (again, properly weighted) is much bigger and harder.
*Epic

^ Agree with that statement, the SAN230 is a HARD wake and its pretty steep too, not as abrupt as the old 210 I don't think...

MarkJ, what was being said basically is the excel/barefoot hull is nothing like the superair/supersport hull (95-06), and I'd have to see pics as I've heard those wakes don't 'build' like the older 2001 hulls, and 93-06 sport nautis either...

Delta Force, I agree that the hulls of excel/barefoots are not similar to 95-06 SANs. I've owned/own both. That said, the wakes however, are very similar in shape-which is weird. That is why I think the barefoot V-drive is probably the best semi-budget wake boat out there hands down. It's a sleeper that not many people know about unless they've been on one. They do "build " very well BTW. About twelve years ago I had my first ACL injury because of not being used to the huge wake when I loaded it down after riding it stock for years... Long story. I think I just took this off topic. Sorry.
