I know it may not be a wakeboarding video but the video should be somewhat entertaining because of the falls. We decided to throw down the boards one day and try barefooting...enjoy.

hah! thanks for the vid house. Ive tried that a couple of times as well as the "legs wrapped around the line" submarine start and I end up getting so beat up two attempts is usually the max but it is fun and gives everyone on the boat a good laugh!

I tried for the better part of an afternoon to barefoot on the rope. Got it on the boom no prob. But behind the boat is a totally different story. I tried with a slalom ski, sitting on a wakeskate, feet wrapped around the rope. Only got up for 2 sec. max. Any advice? Skipping across the water is only fun for the people in the boat

For the deepwater start, one trick is to pull yourself up to a sitting position, then lean your shoulders and pull a bit to cut outside the wake while still seated, this allows the boat to get speed, then you plant your feet in the trough where the water is much smoother and easier, and stand on up. The biggest mistake is trying to stand up too soon. Also, when you're skipping along in the seated position, it is a mistake to abruptly jam your feet onto the water. One method is to have your toes wrapped around the line out in front of you, then you slowly bend your legs and pull your feet in toward you, but your toes stay wrapped around the line. Then when your legs are about half bent, you ease them into the water gently.

Try learning your long line deepwater starts wearing regular shoes, then once you've got it, go for the true barefoot.

The true test is tumbleturns on the long line - whole different ballgame compared to the easy ones off the boom.
