Your Definition of washed out wake

What is Your definition of washed out wake ?

My definition is a wake that is rolling over and has white water on the part of the wake that Your going to hit. A few pics as examples would be great.

and please post pictures that show both sides
of the wake in the same picture.

I would agree with your definition though low quality pics on the internet can be deceiving. Hard to judge distance, depth, and all that crap. Here is a pic of my wake. Obviously it's a bit washed on the side that the rider was not cutting into, but it's always clean and crisp. 92 MC prostar 205 w/ 2k lbs that's getting traded in tomorrow.

This is the only one I have with both sides.The rider is at 75ft and it's clean on both sides but starts to wash out around 90ft or so.

the wake above is very washed out on the right.

As you know I disgree with you that this wake is washed out

No can't say I do but it lloks just like the picture I just posted

Maybe it would clean up with more speed ?

imo, the wake in the last pic is washed out on the rider's side.

I would agree that the boat could use more weight on the passenger side but it is not close to washed out like the picture that Stanfield posted.
I think a small shift in weight would fix the very small amount of wash you must be talking about on the right. You can also see that the wake is more rampy on the left.

of course. what i think is in question is the wash on the rider's side. otherwise, as long as it cleans up on the rider's side, who cares if it washes out on the opposite side?

Just making sure. Kevins talking about my wake like it's all washy (about the same as calling my wife fat ) but it's obviously cause my rider just cut into it.

I hate looking at a washed out wake when I'm making My cut. I rode behind a I/O last weekend in the Petaluma River and the wake was really small and washed out......but thats not to say I didn't have a good time though.

I guess some boats are way more sensitive than others to the boarders pull. I did not mean any offense it was just a good example of a washed out wake. The Cyclone wake that I posted did not wash out form the pull nor did walts, but yours did.

My boat will do that too sometimes....It will wash out at slow speeds also (20 mph or less)if I have a lot of weight in the boat.

The Cyclone wake cleans up around 20 and gets better

I like when the wake washes out on the opposite side. It gives you a nice visual reference and I guess it probably makes a slightly softer landing if you case the very top of the wake. In other words, it's a feature! From what I can tell, boats with steeper and/or narrower wakes, e.g. Super Airs, experience this effect more than boats with rampier and/or wider wakes.

An interesting observation: that Centurion wake looks like some of the better I/O wakes to me...something about the width, the shape, and the slight "crust" that forms on top.

05 tige..... thats what i ride... no wash ever visable within 90 ft. of the boat.

On my boat all I have is white wash its soo awesome! just kidding about it being awesome

Do you guys REALLY wanna see a washed out wake? Here's my i/o wake at around 20mph, with the trim not set. Go 21 and trim it and it's super clean!!

BTW - Rider is 60ft out.

Shoulda zoomed out for this one. Rider touting his skills....

Mark, Your wake looks much better in the second pic. Nice gloves too.

Phantom, it was taken on Lake Tahoe this summer right after the stop in Reno.

Thats not me in the water. I use my gloves only when I ride in January and February.
