The larger the surfer the easier it is to ride, but bigger sizes limit tricks. The opposite is true of smaller boards. I learned to surf on a landlock. Its a bigger board and let me get the feel and riding without a rope. You can take the fins off and do some spins, but flipping that big board could be painful. I now own an Inland surfer - Chubbie. One of the smallest boards avaible. From what I have read - all the trick surfing is now being done with skimmboards. They are even smaller than my Chubbie. Guess it depends on what you are wanting to accomplish. ~S~ P.S. Really like the Inland surfer - yellow looggie.
