i cant compare cost and gas and all that but strictly from my own experience, based on reliability, i would never buy an axis.
we had TWO break down on us, catastrophic engine failure, in a single competition whereas ive ridden epics day in and day out with almost no problems at all. just my two cents though.

Well, I've seen two sante 230s that had catastrophic engine failures within the first 30 hours of use. Doesnt mean PCM or nautique, as a whole, are bad brands. You mean to tell me the 8.1 or 8.2 in the epic is a super reliable motor? Those motors have their fair share of problems two. Fact is, all brands have issues. I seriously doubt axis has more problems, on average, than other boats.

Considering the reality that all boats will have some minor or major issue from time to time, i'd be concerned about buying a boat if I didn't have a local dealer who I could rely upon to fix problems under warranty and quickly. How's the resale value of epic btw? I have no idea as to how they hold their value.

If all the boats were perfect marine mechanics wouldn't exist. As far as i've seen most Marina's stay busy working on ALL makes of boats. The Epics are sold in smaller numbers so you are less likely to see one fail. The fact you are supporting them tells me you've had good service.Congratulations and good luck in your future, but i don't personally know anyone who has had trouble with their Axis.
