After about 60 hours my OJ dripless started leaking . This would have been my third one. I took it out yesterday and at first it was dripless on inspection. Then after operating temp reached it started leaking quite a bit. I purchased a new seal and a whole new unit from OJ as it would be too much of my time to take it to the dealer. My OEM setup came with the cooling hose. Coming off the exhaust quick connect. The water coming from here will cause seal failure as it is too hot especially on the cat engines. Before changing the seal I decided to reroute the cooling line first to the top outlet off the Tstat housing. This line stays relatively cool even during highspeed runs.
Well after capping the old cooling line and clamping all new ones I took it out for a run and it appears the leaking seal is no longer leaking . I figure the hot water softens the graphite seal and allows water leakage. I'll see how long this seal stays leak free but any dripless seals set up off the quick connect should be rerouted before the seals fail. Definitely cheaper and easier

Update. It appears the leakage occurs between the seal and the housing, not seal failure, from housing expansion from the hot cooling water. Makes sense as the leaking didn't start till the Egine was hot. Going for a big trip today so will see how things hold up.

Try calling Eric at OJ Props, I had a seal failure on my Supra at 230 hours. He told me the water really does not play a part in seal failures, its more of alignment issues and wear and tear. If I recall correctly, according to him they tested the dripless shaft seal for hours without any failures with no water running in them.

Eric is very helpful and will answer any questions you have.

seal has been virtually flawless with maybe 4 oz of water over a 40 min 37mph run , I 'm going to re route it to the tranny cooler which should stop that in the fall
