I know we already have 1 "new MB" thread but I didn't want to hijack....

So, i had an offer I could not refuse on the first boat, had to sell it. Luckily, MB built me a new one quickly....

does MB still use the "gravity fed" ballast tanks? how exactly does that work without pumps? i can see how they would fill, but what about empyting? have to drive for it to empty? and what if you only want to fill half a tank or something?

i am LOVING how these boats are coming out!

Yep still gravity fed. they work great.

They fill when the boat is just sitting in one place. Then you just have to open the "gates" while moving and the water flows out. I've found you can drive at about 10 mph and they'll empy in about minute.

On the stern of the boat under water there is about a 4inch hole with an electric door that opens and closes that allows water to flow in and out.

IF they do it the same as calabria they use an rv waste gate. I would assume if you want to let a little out of one side just flip the switch for a few seconds and then flip back up. It might be kind of hard because it comes out so fast.

I love looking at the picture, especially the interior. I agreed with you in that these threads have to stop. I don't think my wife would be too happy if I start boat shopping again.

The interior looks so nice and spacious in those. Great looking boat Ian, I swear one of these years I'm gonna snap up one of those from you when you're all done.

That was quick Ian! Boat looks great. How do you like the Wet Sounds compared to the Exiles?

Yep, i had it listed for sale to deliver at the end of the season but a guy from MN made me an offer that I couldn't refuse if I let him have the boat July 1st. So, i had to do it.

You know, I didn't like that X graphics at all but I am really digging them now that I see them on an actual boat. I love the combo of black/white with bright accent colors. They are very sharp looking.

how is that boat weighted for surfing, and how's the goofy wave?
Old     (surffresh)      Join Date: Jun 2010       07-11-2011, 1:07 PM Reply
we have about a third of the stock in the goofy side, reg full and about 600 in sacks all out of sight, I find the goofy side better, that could be because of the human ballast factor driving

Ian... your boat looks awesome! Lots of good looking red boats coming out of the factory in the last couple of weeks.

Since we seem to be consolidating the new MB boat shots into this thread, hopefully you don't mind one more... I saw this pic of another new 23 TWB and my jaw hit the floor. I had to share it...

Several of us have been drooling over this boat over on FB today...

All nice lookin' boats. MB's are def a head turner. I am curious how the wake compares to a well weighted bu 23 lsv or a supra 24. I rarely see MB's on the water around our area so I have no idea what the wake is like. Most of my time is behind the previously mentioned boats. All I hear are good things about these boats tho. Maybe for our next boat we'll have to look closer at a 23' tomcat.

The more I see about MB the more I like . You west coast guys are lucky to have them close by.
I wish I could see one in person the nearest dealer to me is 200 miles away. Congrats on your new rig.

These pics don't do Ian's MB justice. The thing is sweet.

DBC - That is my boat that Mike is sitting in and man dos it get some looks on the water. It is by far the best boat I have been on. Everybody I take on it can not believe what you get for the pricing. My surfing has gotten a ton better just because the wake is so good. It is the only boat I have not weighted since 1993.

^^^ so sexy...

I think I love that "X" in silver flake gel better than all the others!
Old     (diamonddad)      Join Date: Mar 2010       09-09-2011, 12:15 AM Reply
I would have used flake on my X if they had it in medium gray. Notice how I chose to keep "B52" off my boat. Just my preference.

Dane... on your boat I prefer the flat colors. It's in keeping with the classy, clean theme you captured. I think flake would have ruined that some.

really loving the color combo on the one Drew posted. I'm going to have add this to the list along with Axis when it's time to look at new boats next year.

Here is another red/black MB that caught my eye when I saw it at my local dealer.

This one has a black "X" with white trim.

@Tommy G, which one did you have the love for... Red n silver metal flake or black n blue metal ?

Drew, that black and blue is awesome. Plus, the trailer sets it off perfectly.

Was in Tahoe this weekend (where we have a place) with the family on our '02 SAN, and hit some real chop late in the day. I told the wife that we need a bigger boat and she agreed. Started building the case...
