i have been trying the heelside back roll off and on since the end of the summer and i slip out too but i dont do it the correct way by throwing your head to the nose of your board because im a little discouraged from when i tryed it that way and it hurt but im sure that was just a quinsidence

I just landed my first heelside backroll last month. Since then I have landed about a dozen. The key to the landing is to only think about the landing and your body does the rest. land bent kneed way down close tho the water for shock absorbtion and spot the landing early. This happened to me my first few attempts, and the reason you may be slipping out is because you hit the dish on the other wake and it pushes your front foot out infront of you getting you off balance. here is a pic of a success. I do mine king of crooked, but you'll get the picture. Hope I helped

Way to go Ashton!! Good for you for trying!! Try this . . . Make a deal with your dad (Pat) that evertime you try one . . . he has to aswell!!!

Good luck with that,
Todd

Dustin' always tells riders that are trying that trick that it's all about the edge . . . you don't have to start to far out and keep that handle in to your hips throughout the rotation . . . then as said above, "consentrate on the landing"
