Powering Fusion T-series 3 way combo's

Does anyone have any recommendations for power these speakers?

I'm kind of on a budget here, but looking for something that will give me decent sound. I'm not looking for the infamous "best amp." Just something good that is not expensive. I would even consider something used.

An idea of a price range your looking for would help. Everyone's idea of "not that expensive" is a little different. That being said just check out ebay you can get some killer deals on RF, PPI, JL Audio, MTX, Hifonics, you name it. My reccomendatin would be any of the first 3 but see what you can find.

Martin, I was running the JLA4300 150 watts rms to each set. You can pick one up off ebay for around $225.

I would be happy to spend less that $200 and here is where I am really going to show my ignorance.

Do I need a two or four channel amp for a pair of combos. It looks like 4 speaks, but is it just two channels? A little help here (or a lot). Thanks.

You only need a two channel amp for those speakers. One channel per set of speakers.

Paul is right, the reason many folks here use 4 channel amps to power the two channels required for most tower speakers is that they can bridge the four channel amp to two channel and get more power.

What we really need is for some of the folks making tower speakers (especially the ones with multiple drivers per enclosure) is to offer different ohm enclosures. I'd love to be able to buy a set of wetsounds 485's that were 2 ohm per enclosure...

There's reasons why speaker companies don't run thier component speakers showing two ohm loads. It's ok to do it with subs but not anythig that reporduces hirger frequencies...there is slight sound degregation.

So in addition to the JL A4300, would something like a Cadence fx104 be a good choice?

Anyone else have specific amp recommendations?

If I remeber correctly when I installed, the Fusion combos were 2 ohm (passive crossover). Have Fusion T-3 combo, using PPI 1000.4 to power. 2 channels to Fusions (250w @ 2 ohm), 2 channeld bridged to PPI 12" sub (500w)

I ran a rockford fosgate(I think it was t4004) 4 channel amp to mine. I also had a set of 5.25" diamonds, thus the reason for the 4 channel....Not sure on the wattage or specifics off hand but it was absolutely amazing. I am selling that amp as well as the 3 ways if anyone is interested

Wow fellas, way above my technical level, I'm just looking for specific amps that I should consider to buy and take to my local stereo shop and have them install.

I would definately run enough power to them. The dealer I bought them from said that they were 4 ohm speakers, but I didn't get too deep into the literature. I first powered them with a 2 channel kenwood amp that had 180 watts per channel. This turned out not to be enough and I bought another kenwood amp (4 channel) that bridged down to 225 amps per speaker and it did a good job. I bought one amp from millionbuy.com and the other from sonicelectronics.com and I think both were around $200.

Any other suggestions on specific amp??
