LTR Engine Temperature

Since removing the boat from storage this year I have noticed the water temperature of the engine runs about 170 when pulling a rider and returns to 160 after idling around a bit. I though I remembered the engine operating at 160 all the time last season.I have replaced the raw water impeller and the thermostat and the temperature ranges did not change. Just curious what temperature other MC LTR engines operate at? And if 170 is high do you have any suggestions.

I wouold not worry about it to much as long as it does not get much higher than 170. The new thermostat you put in may allow the boat to go up to 170.

What is your oil pressure running @???
My guages seem wonky cause .recently the Alarm has been sounding for Low Oil pressure, yet the boat is running fantastic,,,,I also noticed the voltage metre seemed like it's been kind of not working now and then...I'm going to change the oil and see if this makes a diff....for the alarm issue!

Mine is running about 165 this year. It has changed over the years.
I have had impellers go out. Still running the original thermostat. I am a firm beleiver in changing them at least every other year. One year my temp would creep up and up until I got on plain. Then it would be fine after that. Come to find out the impeller had a bad spot on a couple fins

SulMaxell, i think your Oil ptessure sensor is going out. Mine did the same thing about a year a go. The oil pressure would drop drastically and the alarm would sound then the engine would cut out. It was a simple fix. I think the sensor was like $30.
