Aftermarket Ballast

Are they worth it? I would like to have a real ski boat but for now I have a 2006 SeaRay 185 Sport. I was thinking of a ski locker ballast, is it worth the money or should I save it for later,

When we ride with just two or three in the boat we put a 500lb fat sack in the bow and trim it all the way up (just before cavitation). If you have enough human ballast it's probably not worth it.
