Hey Boobs, That boat is cool but please keep it off the beach! Those tracking fins are held in place by two 3/8" ss screws and will tear through the hull if you strike something solid.

How does the VLX wake compare to the SAN ?
Old     (tparider)      Join Date: Aug 2003       12-21-2003, 5:00 PM Reply
I've never been behind a VLX - I have been behind a SAN. The SAN is big and steep. If there's not enough weight in the front it's like hitting a wall (which some people like).

From the videos I've seen online, the VLX wake looks huge and rampy, but a little mellower. If I get a boat in the next 2 months, I'm leaning toward the VLX.

David,

If you'd like a demo behind a VLX, I'd be happy to hook you up. You may have noticed mine's for sale, but frankly, I'm just itching to ride. I have a group I ride with on Lake Tarpon, but almost everyone's injured. When we were riding, there was usually only two or three of us in the boat.

FYI - My VLX has stock ballast, wedge, plus I usually carry about 500 lbs of lead. My friend has a Super Sport, basically a Super Air. I think he's becoming a VLX convert!

Call me after the first of the year if you're interested. 727-480-9985.

So what is the verdict on the BU tower?

The older one sucked because of rope snag and bimini coverage. Does the the new tower solve these problems?

That's the boat I just bought Mike. White black white with the illusion X tower. Also 340hp monsoon engine and a bunch of other goodies, I can't wait. I did not get that trailer since I leave it in the water 10min from my house.
Old     (batman)      Join Date: Nov 2001       01-18-2004, 9:47 AM Reply
Todd, I liked the blue bling, but it's not as sharp as your black and I just loved the boat in the picture, so that is what I have ordered. I am getting the custom trailer like the one the blue sets on. I hope to get matching wheels for my Black Avalanche! My interior is going to be moonbeam and light graphite. I really wanted to have a boat that was different from everybody else around here. After seeing the Illusion X tower and it's functionality(?) I like it. It will be a long six weeks!
