Ty, I have little experience with Sanger. Yet, my impression is that they are sweet boats with a really nice wake and a great price. The only things I would desire on the v210 (for me) would be a higher-profile deck and a flat sun deck (they are related).

Thnx boatmama, hopefully we will see each other out on the water this year -

Alot of the users on this board now me personally and many others don't. I apologize if any one including the comapnies at hand were not aware of all the details. I do have faith in Centurion, Fineline and their products, that is why I havent just dumped the boat. I am eagerly anticipating countelss hours on the water this summer. I plan on buying a boat every 3 or 4 years for many years to come. Thank you for the offer ~

Why do you dog piles give a rats A$$ what kind of boat the man wants to buy. Be happy with what you got and dont be so damned concern about what others have.

Tsunami a hideous eye sore?!?! Wow, my shop actually has the boat in Tabiggs' profile. Up close & personal I can assure you it is NOT an eye sore. If anyone in New England wants to see the boat drop me a message, it is flat out amazing. Doug, as far as your comments go I really doubt you've ever seen one in person let alone rode behind one b/c I think there are only four in existance. I'm not calling you guys out but just letting you know that the boat looks totally different in person, come check it out you may change your opinion or not, fine by me I can't afford it anyway Lake Austin good luck with your new boat, I know you'll love it.

Haha, you guys are too high strung, but it is one ugly boat. I guess some peps are just lacking a bit in the taste department.

Alot of these boats really are the passion of the company owners. Not all but most started small and are still family owned. I think the "Compensator" was specifically designed for the owner of the company who does most of his boating at Tahoe which can be like the ocean at any given minute. He wanted a high seas, go fast wake boat. You got to admit that its pretty cool to make your dreeam boat which doesn't exist a reality.

It is not for everyone but ugly......I don't think so!

Kevin, The boat has been well maintaned, all manintence records are accounted for as well as inspection by the delaer before purchase, unfortuanely the problem to this point. Fineline is handling the issue the best they can, when the boat is repaired I will be happy to hook who ever up with pulls again~

When I get a 30' boat it will be a Sea Ray or Fountain, not a wakeboard boat! To each their own.

Serious COMPENSATORS.

Just add the middle aged man with shirt un-buttoned, grey hair covered belly, gold chains and trophy babes.

Haha. I knew Tim would like them with the checker board and flame stuff and all.

No doubt about being the compensator. These are the real compensators and the badest V bottoms on the water today. No other V bottom can keep up with an Outerlimits when they are similarly rigged.

I am glad you have all maintenance records.
However you have been misleading this board for over a year. When you give a list of things that
have gone wrong with your boat and half of the list is general maintenance items. impellers, belts filters etc then we find out that you are not the
original owner of the boat. This makes me question
the rest of your list.

Starter have you ever had water in the boat and gotten the starter wet?

Ruder cable have you ever damaged the ruder etc with an impact?

Fuel pump have you ever filled the tank with bad gas plugged up the filter and damaged the pump?

In other words you now have a HUGE credibility problem.
Old     (lzyboy)      Join Date: Jun 2001       03-19-2003, 6:14 PM Reply
Sorry to hear you see it that way Kevin, but 2cnd owner or not, the gelcoat shouldnt be fading as it is, no the boat has never been submerged to get the starter wet, nor should the boat be on it's 3rd fuel pump in 3 years ( 2 in 15 months). All major services, 20, 100, etc, have been completed by the dealer, all maintence records are present and I have never claimed to be the original owner.

I am thankfull that Fineline is working with me and I appreicte there customer service.

That really clears up alot of things, sorry for my rant on this issue (I took it at face value and well sorry).......If They do anything for your boat that will be great......but you should really be on your own on this.

How does the old saying go ... "believe half of what you read and even less of what you hear". Although I don't tend to base many decisions on people's opinions, experiences and opinions are all some of us have if we don't have direct experience with a potential purchase. When we were looking for our first wakeboard boat over he past several months, we did a LOT of reading and conducted a lot of research. In the end, people's experiences affected our decision. We ended up buying a Malibu Wakesetter VLX and I have to admit that Aaron's saga had an affect on our decision. Would we have purchased a Centurion had we not read his saga? Probably not. I'm 99% sure we would have made the same choice. But we spent 35 hours at the boat shows and examined MANY boats with a fine tooth comb. After reading his compelling posts, Centurion was the only manufacturer that we had taken off our list prior to the boat shows.

It is unfortunate that your decision was in any way influenced by a saga with a huge credibility problem

If you mean by that do I own a Centurion you bet!

Early on I questioned Aaron's huge list, because much of the list was routine maintenance, belts, impellers and filters. Then the other shoe drops. He is the second
Owner and left that fact out. Did he tell Centurion he was the second owner? I don’t know, but he sure did not tell us. Since he is the second owner he has no engine warranty or boat warranty. Anything that Centurion does for Aaron is out of warranty and because they want to take care of him.

Dane no I am not a dealer. It just gets old to have people Basing purchase decisions on half truths!

I Do own a Centurion and have friends that are dealers.
I did not get involved earlier because I had no reason to doubt Aaron.
I was skeptical about much of his list but took him at his word.
Needles to say I now have trouble with his credibility.

I also questioned the "problem items list" that Aaron had on his boat when he first posted problems on WW about his paint problems. The fuel pump problems are definatly Mercruiser's problem but many other boat makers use Mercury Tige, Sanger, Calabria, Ski Supreme, Svfara, oh yeah and Regal as well as countless I/O's. Is Mercruiser a bullet proof built engine? No, but show me one engine maker that is.
I to own Centurions my 1988's paint or Gelcoat is still flawless after 14 years. Why? because it has been taken care of and was built right no doubt aboit it! Does this mean that every boat Fineline builds will have a perfect finish? Well I guess not, proof is Aaron's boat. But again show me a boat manufacturer that builds every boat perfect? I have had good experiences with Centurions and hopefully will continue to do so. And I foresee buying another Centurion some years down the road. If it was not for the price and quality of Centurion's I would not have been able or willing to afford a new Boat. Thank you Rick Lee and Fineline for making a great looking and very functional V-drive that I the middle class 27 year old can afford and feel great about owning.

Aaron,
It really sucks getting burned on a boat. I've been in the boat business off and on for 16 years. The only way to avoid something like this is to check up on the quality of construction materials, and the manufacturer warranty. This looks like a material quality issue. If you buy another boat, check to see what kind of gel coat they use and ask if it is guaranteed. A good manufacturer, if they use high quality gel, will offer a warranty on their gel coat. Another very important thing to check is the type of resin they use. You want a boat made with a vinyl based, not polyester based resin. This will resist water being absorbed into the hull. Once that happens you have blisters. It's mostly a cosmetic thing, but it looks terrrible. A good manufacturer will also give a warranty against blistering. Read the fine print carefully though. Some warranties are void if the boat is kept in water for as little as two weeks. Sorry to hear about all your troubles. Good luck

You have either not read all of the facts on this issue or chose to ignore them to inflame the situation.

I'd say Fineline has gone above and beyond. The only question I have is how do you know the started hasn't been submerged, the rudder hasn't been damaged, etc. if you are the second owner Aaron. Have you seen how some people take care of boats? And they aren't going to say "hey, we hit a tree, almost sunk the boat,....." when you are buying. I'm just glad you were lucky enough to get this problem taken care of.

At first I thought you were getting really bad service, but I wonder how many times MC, CC, and Malibu have taken a boat back to the factory to do gelcoat work on a boat out of warranty and for the second owner?

I had a 1984 Supra Comp TS6m, back in '00 I started seeing the same thing in ONE SPOT that Aaron is seeing throughout his whole boat. It took 16 years for a Supra. How old is Aarons boat? 3 years?

Your post seems to have changed

To your first post I would say Aaron has said a lot of things.

To your second post

All manufactures have problems. Centurion has said that they would help Aaron. Even though he had no boat or engine warranty. Supra had more than their share of problems especially with early boats. Glad to hear you had good luck with yours

Kevin,

No, I did not read every post in this thread. I was not trying to inflame the situation. I'm not talking bad about anyone's product, or trying to incite anything. I missed the post regarding a previous owner. This opens up a whole new issue regarding the previous owner's care of the boat, which can impact even the highest quality boats on the market. I was just offering some info that I've picked up working in lamination for three different boat companies over the years.

Thanks for the criticism....lol I probably would not have read further otherwise.

Kevin,

Slow down...Admit that you have a "close" relationship with Clark's in St. Louis. You may not "work" for them but you are a promo person for them aren 't you?? Tell the truth or don't speak. At this point you are "hiding" information just like you are accusing Aaron.

Funny, you were a die hard Master-Craft guy in the past.....Les had a falling out with MC (Les is the dealerships owners son)and went to work for Centurion in NC, you now are a Centurion man. Hey that's fine but remember there are people like me that form opinions about dealerships from people like you. Support Aaron and let the manufacture make the decision.
Old     (krbaugh)      Join Date: Mar 2002       03-27-2003, 8:34 AM Reply
actually if I where trying to hide anything can you imagine that I would put my real name on my profile. Some people just hide behind names like barefooter.

I did not name the dealer that I am friends with.
but I did say

"I Do own a Centurion and have friends that are dealers. " I did leave out Les Clark but I have never talked to Les about Aaron.

So stop hideing behind a fake name and tell us who you are so we can be on a level playing field.

I think this thing got blown out of proportion. First with Aaron talking about the little support he got, when it turns out he was a second owner. This whole thing would have been nothing if that was mentioned in his first post way back when. Luckily he is now getting some service from Centurion. I think everyone can just give it up now. It's not an issue anymore.

Can't decide what way to go.
I want to try the new Cyclone to see how the barefoot wake is. If it is as good as I think it will be I may be in my first V drive.

Either that or another La point/Eclipse
