Very good, tried and true, long running shape that will take you from beginner all the way to pro. Very forgiving and predictable. Not considered a really fast board. Choppy water is probably not it's best atribute as it sits higher on the water, but depends on other factors as well. I rode that shape for three or four seasons and loved it.

Yep, yep, and yep to all three questions. Smooth consistent ride and pop, with good speed, and relatively soft landings.

It's not the best in any category but it's good in all of them.

It is a great beginner board. Just take off the stock fins they put on it, and put some .7's on it. We have been putting a lot of people at the camp on it. It is really forgiving and predictable like Sparky said. It is also great for learning surface spins.

Travis beat me to it........take off those fins, and save them for weapons or something.... We have 1.0 P-wings on, and it's our community board. Everyone likes it!

Speaking of fins I have a 2006 CWB Flame and I would consider myself still a beginner rider and it has a 1.9 center fin. Do you think I would be better off going with something smaller as it is a real bear to spin on the surface?

Sorry to take this off topic a bit.

Loved that Motive...still have it to this day and when beginners come out, that board gets the green light. Not a single beginner that rode mine had problems learning the basics. You'll love that board bro.

The Motive is my first, and only board. I have nothing but good things to say about it. I keep wanting to get a new board, but it continually does not give me a reason to do so.

Been riding a Motive for several years now. I've been thru several because of sliders. It's a great board.

I was riding a 134 Divine (the girls version of the Motive). I don’t know why I wanted to leave that board. Now after riding with Shaun and Travis , I don’t want to leave it. So I went up to a 144 Motive. I cant wait to get back to riding again. I just might not ride with fins to do surface tricks.

sure it is a great board, but if you are going to buy one, i wouldn't be getting it at a proshop or anything, I heard you can now get a motive at costco, for a good amount cheaper.
