Im saving up for a old ski nautique 2001 and Ive seen alot of wake pics but I was wondering if anybody had any pictures of wakes from older nautiques (like before the 2001s) or pictures of wakes from weighted down prostar 190s, I just gradutated highschool so im on a hardcore budget and I am for sure not gonna go with I/O, and I am going to stick with mastercraft or correctcraft

You for sure want the 2001 over the PS190. But that is my opinion since the old mans '95 is impossible to weigh. Tried it for laughs once and it did not end well.

Here's the wake behind my 1981 Ski Nautique with about 1500 lbs of water and 3 people in the boat. FYI the 1981 is the year before the 2001 model Nautique, it's about 12" shorter and 8" narrower and the same hull goes back to the 70s (not sure how far into the 70s).

a little grab
another jump
another

Pardon my lack of skills, it's the rider, not the wake. For reference I'm a little over 6'2" about 220 pounds... so I'm not small...

ok so even though the boat is a little smaller before the 2001s it still has the same hull design? so is the wake just a little narrower? and yeah i figured the 2001 was the way to go over the prostar

The hull is pretty simliar, but they tweaked the shape to reduce the spray a bit, the wakes are SIMILAR, but the 2001 wake is wider.

Ya Darren, I graduated high school in 06 so i know how it is to be on a budget. I bought an 86 ski nautique 2001. I got it for $5600 dollars. It was the best purchase ive made in a long time.

I took out a loan and had my mom co-sign for a lower interest rate. I have a good paying job as a waiter. So my budgets not super low but the payments are only 150 a month.

I would definetly go with a Correct Craft over a Mastercraft. If you look around on the internet you will find a ton of old nautiques, you wont find nearly as many mastercrafts. If your interested in wakeboarding it is hard to beat the wake on a loaded 2001, and there is absolutely no way you can beat the wake for the price.

Here are a couple pictures of my boat and its wake

mid 90's prostars are sick but they may be a little out of your price range. if youre looking for under 10k then the 2001 is the way to go

The mc tristar is a good boat and some of them are open bow.

Check out Hydrodyne...they made boats in the early 90's and their hulls are super deep and the sidewall of the boat was deep too, 1000 lbs and we had a killer wake

I know that Gordie Bubulz (professional instructor and former world champ up in Fremont, WI) used to have a 90s Hydrodyne. I couldn't tell you the exact year/model, but he had it dialed and it threw a beautiful wake.

I own a prostart 190 1989 and i really thinks the fiberglass floor is nice.. I have 1 floor pannel of wood and is starting to rot. So i'm verry verry satisfied with the knowing the rest will keep in good condition.
For the wake,, the boat has a wedge with i gues a ballast of arround 700 lbs + 400 lbs on gas (with have 4 lpg tanks installed) and the wake is verry nice)
I know the wake is a bit smaller then the nautique, but what is your goal of buying the boat.? Our goal was to have this boat for a couple of years and upgrade it to a sport nautique when we both get jobs (still studying)

For what i can say, im verry satisfied with our boat. And as long you buy a ski /wake boat you can sing it out for the first 3 years i guess.

You cant go wrong with a 2001. Heres a really old picture of the wake with about 1500 pounds in it. We load it with about 2100 pounds now.Upload

Eric, 5600 is a steal if the floor and stringers were good.

Leo- I know it was a steal. The stringers and floors are in great shape. The boat has been garaged all its life. I first found it on ebay and it did not sell because of not meeting the reserve. The seller was actually a used car dealership after someone had traded it in for a car so that was one advantage on the price, another advantage was i bought it in december. And last and most important, the guy didnt realize what he had.

The boat is great, its got the big block 454, the interior isnt in the best shape but i got over that. Its now got a fully automatic ballast system, monster tower, pioneer head unit, 4 polk speakers, keyless igniton, acme 540, optima blue top, LED trailer lights, optima blue top and much more. The problem with some of these old boats is
1. If the stringers or floors are shot.
2. They dont have any of the modern features that we all love. So to do that costs almost as the boat. Ive spent over 4000 dollars on adding new things, and rebuilding different parts. So before buying realize its not just the boat your paying for. Its a lot of other stuff
