ours snaps in and out. so we pull it out and use our normal vaccume to vaccume it. but we steam clean it once like every three times we take it out.

pressure washers work really good on carpeting, just make sure you don't put it to a fine spray, keep it wide and it doesn't damage the carpeting at all. They make carpet cleaning soap stuff that runs through the line too. We use it on our Ranger after fishing trips and it gets anything out, blood, dried worm entrails, dirt, road grime, you name it.

After you have pressure washed it put a dehumidifier in the boat, jam it on and let the overflow go into the bilge. Put the cover on and leave it for a few days, the boat will be dry as bone and smell fresh as a daisy.

Unsnap the carpet, lay out on driveway, splash with soap, rinse with garden hose and then hang on saw horse to dry.

I rented a carpet cleaner at safeway. The result was about 5 gallons of black water I pumped out.

I bought a small Bissel last year. I noticed when we went out on the first voyage we kept getting black feet on the sun pad. Like J-Rod said, I got a lot of black water in the tank. It was definitely worth the purchase and easy on the carpet.

in the past i have used about 3TBS of Tide with 5 gallons of water. Brush it in with a stiff nylon brush and rinse with a pressure washer. Smells great, and looks brand new.

What if we do not have snap out carpet? In my older wood floor boat I would never ever pour in gallons of water.

Other options? Looks like carpet steam vac is most common.

Damn beer in my carpet. My carpet is pretty worn anyways. I hear older Supras are a pain to recarpet.
