Whats up guys, I am in a dispute with myself about buying a board. Right now I ride a '03 Hyperlite Premier 135. It is in excellent condition. The only reason I am looking at new boards is because I think it may be a bit small for me. I weigh 145, which is in the range for this board, but I am 6'3". So the board seems a bit small on me. I was wondering what all you thought on this dillema. Do you think being in the weight range is more important than comparing how tall I am? Also, in comparing a 135 to a 140, that is only 5cm difference, which seems miniscule. How substantial is that? Just wondering. Thanks for the input.

I would go with the 140 myself. You could ride the 135 but the 140 would feel much more comfortable.

I think it is all in what you feel most comfortable on. You are tall but you do not way very much. So i think you can go either way. I have a 2005 hyperlite Dna 136 brand new if you want to buy it. Let me know ill sell it cheap

Felling comfortable on your board is the number 1 issue. Murray is like 5'5" 145 lbs and rides a 141. Larger boards make for softer landings but ride what you feel most comfortable on.

Yea Im 6'2" about 170 and I started on a Byerly 137 the board felt alright not great. Now i ride a TFD 142 - much better. Weight is definitely not the only issue to consider. I think it has more to do with where your weight is centered. Its centered higher on our tall a$$es so IMO we need a longer board. But again, ride whats comfortable...

Nick, 6'3" 145lbs . Dude!!! Eat a Steak!!!!! load up on the carbs, do something to put some weight on. By the way go with the 140 but if the 135 feels good then stick with it. The board is more geared for your weight than your height.

I have a similar problem. I weigh 95 pounds and I am 5' but I ride a 138. Should I go smaller, and if so what do you suggest. Or should I stay with the bigger board?

Nah tyler, keep the 138...you'll grow into it. If you get a smaller board you will be pi$$ed later.

But if you do decide to go smaller, don't go any smaller than a 135/136.

Yea, I think I am gonna get a 140. I think it will be a lot better for me. It will allow for a wider stance than the 135, which will be more comfortable since I am so tall. Erik -- Man, I eat like a pig, however no meat stays on me. I thought the cafeteria at my dorm would do the job but it hasn't. I think I need to take toolfan's advice... no light beer... Anywho, thanks for all the input, later guys.

To each his own. I am 6' and 170 lbs. I actually ride, or did ride until I broke it, a 135 Premier (original shape). I know have a new Premier 136 and that size works great for me. I've tried 140's but I just never liked throwing around that much board. I might be giving up softer landings, but the smaller size boards fit me better.

Hey nacho did the size of the board seem to make that much of a difference because the TFD and Byerly ride way different?

yea, it made a hell of difference. the byerly was an 04 (with the tip/tail cutouts) so it felt even smaller. so when I got on the TFD, it was a huge difference. But I love the 142

Softer landings, more stability. At the end of last summer I was throwing some 180's with no problem. No 3s yet but I didn't have a problem spinning the board quickly.
