We just got another 7" of snow last night.... on top of the 4 we had.... The lakes have been frozen long enough for cars to drive on them.... I don't want to hear about it.

I just got cold Steven!! Really though it was 55 degrees two weekends ago. Now if it would just rain so we can get some snow.

It was 34 this morning at 8am on my drive to work and it's supposed to be a high of around 49. It's pretty cold.

"Come on guys, if it isn't snowing, it isn't cold!"

If there was any moisture, it would be snowing. Unfortunately, we've been dry here.

"at least its not effing foggy.."

Really??? I can't see the end of my street. Foggy here for at least a week. Sun has broken thru twice! Just got back from Brentwood and the sun is out there. This weather sucks, just rain at least so we can get some snow.

Yeah, it's extremely foggy here too - we can barely see a few car lengths away. I don't think we've seen the sun in a week.

Hahn- Where are you? If you're around Friday and want a pull, we have dry suits to fit all. Should be a few degrees warmer too. Went out Sunday. It was pretty cold due to the dampness.

BTW- when I left the house today at 5:00, my car was hard iced up. Not just a little frost. That's in Disco Bay. I think there's supposed to be an Arctic air mass coming down our way.

i hate the cold, i love snowboarding but i'll take wakeboarding hands down. I just watched the butter effect last night and it was downright depressing, especially since a lot of it is filmed at my home lake

at least the fog was gone today, finally some sunshine!

Witches t-t in a brass bra this morning. I couldn't believe the truck read 32 in Roseville. Fingers crossed for rain though...I saw something online about precipitation early next week.

Peter, sorry I didn't contact you or Chuck but it was a last minute work trip and I'm already at the airport headed back to sunny warm 75 degree Scottsdale! I don't think I could ride in this cold weather even with a dry suit. I'm too much of a wuss like Joe said.

Happy holidays to you and your family.

we need about 3 months of artic air mass and precipitation to get some snow and fill up these damn lakes & reservoires.

If the water isn't frozen, it's not to cold. We went out Sunday up near Auburn Ca. We broke the 100 degree rule, but it was fun. No one out but acouple fishermen and us.

What have you become Hahn?

If you were in front of me, I'd slap ya for posting this.

39 air and 49 water last Saturday. Back in the day you'd have been right there with us.

(Actually, I'm 60). I paid for a commercial pull on Anderson last Sunday, and in my drysuit it could have just as well been July. If I were 10 years younger, I'd have trunked it. It was not all fun and games, though; I fell and blew out my left eardrum.

My ent Dr. cleared me today to continue wakeboarding using ear protection, so I expect to be out there again this weekend. I'm hoping to mooch a noncommercial ride, but if I have to pay again this weekend, I'm ready to do it.

I've seen my share of cold weather, but so far, I haven't seen it in NorCal. If you don't drive for the first 5 miles of the day on square tires, it isn't cold!

Yes, we have to put up with the cold here in Nor Cal during the "off-seasonms", but hey... Isn't the epic glassy water worth it all? Throw on a wetsuit or drysuit, man! It's not all THAT bad. Not everyone can enjoy nice weather all year long.

after toughing out the cold, dirty delta early spring or late october the last few years, it's sad that I think the water here in s.w. florida is cold or the upper 70's temps here this past weekend are almost too cold to ride (what a wuss I'm turning into...)

Temperature check in Illinois right now..4.. without wind chill and still dropping. Supposed to be negative by the morning. I blame Blagojevich

We live within 50 feet of sea level in the North Bay and just walked out to take out the trash...the rain water on top of the trash cans was already frozen. It will probably hit the mid 20's tonight.

I am dreaming of a sunny warm Christmas with margaritas on the beach and 79 degree water. Friday can not come soon enough

With that being said.. Anyone riding this weekend? I really need a pull anywhere in the greater LA area... id drive an hour or two if I have to.

Tyler - There is a reason we live in California and pay ridiculous prices for everything.
Old     (guido)      Join Date: Jul 2002       12-19-2008, 10:29 AM Reply
Brrrr... I made the rule a couple years ago that I don't ride from December to Febuary. If the air and water don't add to 100 degrees, then I'm out. Water in the 40's and air in the 40's is a cold combo, IMO. I'd rather be on the mountain in those conditions.

It's been pretty chilly in Cali lately. At least chilly by our standards. It was 28 when I left for work yesterday morning. There's still a nice coating of snow on the hills around my house.

Here it comes California...the Pineapple Express.
Warm wet air from the Pacific collides with cold Alaskan air mass coming down from the gulf of Alaska to HOSE California.

Batton down the hatches.

Expecting up to 4 inches rain in the great central valley and as much as 15 inches of rain in the Sierra foothills on Christmas Day.
If you know about the snow in the Sierra that could come out to 15 FEET in the high elevations...100mph winds....I love it!

hope the weather service delivers!
